❥ Suiko's Links
Her relationship with her father can be complicated at times but she loves him dearly regardless. Since she was a newborn she's listened to his stories about his world travels and all the Elnin he's met on his journeys. It inspires her to want to be an adventurer herself, but for some reason Kai always shoots down her passion saying it's too dangerous. Because of this Suiko has gravitated more towards books and maps, studying the world instead of experiencing it directly. Though every now and then she'll sneak out with encouragement from a friend or two to explore on her own under Kai's nose.
Kai fell in love with her the moment he saw her. His parenting instincts kicked into full force and he swore to do everything he could to keep her happy and safe. Being a world traveler, Kai has a very good understanding of the dangers of the outside world on top of him being a reckless, trouble-making kit in the past, he's terrified of his daughter following in his footsteps. While he has good intentions, he can be too overbearing and smothering which lead him to raise her in a fairly sheltered environment. Unfortunately, this has left their relationship a little strained as Suiko gets older and shows more desire to venture outside of his protection.
Out of all her litter mates, Senshu is the brother she was most sad about leaving. She always looks forward to receiving his letters and is happy to have maintained a connection with him in writing. She's hopeful for the day they can be reunited in person.
Looks up to Suiko for her elegance and wishes greatly that he could have gotten to know her better growing up. He is happy to have her as a sister and tries his best to write letters with the help of their "mother", Litura.
Suiko's other, more distant father. She'd love to get to know him more but never got much of a chance to under Kai's smothering care. Sometimes when she's fed up with Kai's over protectiveness she fantasizes how it could have been growing up with Litura instead, but she usually gets over it and makes up with him within a day or two. She's hopeful to reconnect once she's older and has the means to travel on her own.
Litura was sad to see Suiko go when Kai had to part ways with him. He wished that he could have watched her grow up and been more involved in raising her since he has a strong concern of being seen as a bad parent due to his own situation of being separated from his father at an early age. While he never writes her himself due to being rather busy with mercenary work and not knowing what to say to her, he helps Senshu write the letters and sends them out for him; perhaps feeling a little guilty for not being able to do more...
A fellow bookworm and kind soul. Suiko admires her very much even if it can be difficult to get her attention at times.
Wyvern always comes to Suiko first for book recommendations, and she admires her as one of her biggest inspirations. Also an elnin with a taste for adventure and a serious case of wanderlust, Wyvern is always more than happy to tag along on on Suiko's secret escapades. Along with their bond over books, perhaps the two friends also share an interest in talking about anything relating to the mysteries and wonders of exploring Eyre some day!
Suiko and Akilah aren't very close but they remain pleasant with each other as they have quite a few mutual friends. They see each other often when out in groups.
A casual acquaintance, maybe one day they can be a little closer!
Being around Tinni always manages to cheer Suiko up and make her laugh. Most of the time she can sit back and let them do most of the talking while she enjoys their company and reactions to, well, everything.
"Oh my gosh she is so pretty and her little fish loves my fairy! I hope we can be friends forever a-and I can just as pretty as her." //faints
Wonderful fluffy friend! She admires Vrede's luxurious coat quite a bit~
"A new friend to go exploring with! Let's go!"
Suiko is extra shy around her simply because she finds her breathtakingly beautiful. She never knows what to say to her yet yearns to be closer. If they're within range of eye contact you can guarantee Suiko's face will be beet red.
She always catches glimpses of Suiko but never seems to be able to talk to her. She does her best to be friendly and greet her but Suiko ends up quickly slipping away. She's hopeful that one day they can be friends since she's heard so many wonderful things about her from their mutual friends.
Vie is.. a lot for Suiko to handle. He comes in like a whirlwind then suddenly she's agreeing to sneaking off at night! What?! But he keeps her life interesting and she treasures the adventures and experiences they've shared together, even if she can only take him in small doses.
Aware of Suiko’s secret yearn to travel, he’d invite her to adventures far and close. Vie’s current feelings for Suiko is of resemblance to a semi-protective brother, so although he doesn’t want her to get hurt, it also pains him to see her surpressing her adventurous heart. Maybe someday he’ll take her out to the sea for a few days and apologize to Kai later.. XD He treasures her as family and although there may be some requests(?) he feels uncomfortable, he just can’t turn her down.
When she looks at her she can only see a tortured soul trapped in her own cage. All the hurt behind her eyes seems so plain to see. She pities her a bit, but is extremely careful to not let it show. And instead makes an enormous effort to show her that there is good in the world and to include her whenever possible. She's internally overjoyed at any reciprocation she receives, but doesn't make a big deal about it. She understands that she must go at her own pace and is not eager to push her, lest she undoes any progress.
She's so proud of her son for what he was able to do for her. And she's dedicated to doing her part in contributing to encourage the two of them to grow together.
Her relationship with Nué's mother is an interesting one. She has trouble trusting adult elnin the most but Suiko has been nothing but kind, supportive, and patient with her. She wants to open her heart to her but is stuck with only a door ajar. Though rarely she'll feel bold enough to show her her happiness and gratitude, even if it's quick to recede.
