Profile
Few people know of The President’s Monster as more than a cryptid. Missing interns, mysterious bones, and the president’s mysterious, enclosed bay all serve to give Anira an air of mystery. And she’s fine with that. Anira thrives on being a mystery. It helps her hunt after all, and Anira lives for the hunt. Plus she eats people for sustenance.
Anira is not a very genuine person. She’s sly and manipulative and doesn’t care at all about other people. Well, except for maybe Cynthia. Mostly, she’s just here for what others can do for her. Anira isn’t particularly emotional either - she doesn’t like showing off any vulnerabilities. The best you’ll get is an eerie smile. Either that, or you’ll get one of her patented melodramatic speeches.
Initially, Anira was not actually part of the Golden Isles. She accidentally migrated into their peculiar oceans while the rift was still open. She had no idea that anything had changed until the world shook when the rift closed. Although the Golden Isles was a decent place to hunt, she was totally lost until Cynthia found her and made a deal with her. Nowadays, Anira lives in a private bay all by herself. She always has enough to eat and people to bother. It’s a great life.
No one can actually tell if Anira and Cynthia are genuine in their love for each other, depending on each other to survive long lives, or are just manipulating each other to get something out of it. Regardless, the pair are inseparable. If Cynthia ever got hurt, well, the world shudders to find out what would happen.
Anira didn’t actually care about other vetehi at first, but Racsaue annoyingly and persistently wormed their way into her heart. They crave attention and affection from parental type figures, and somehow, Anira ended up doing that. Badly, yes, but it’s better than they were getting before.
Although Anira is only vaguely aware of Hibiscus through Racsaue, she thinks they’re really quite odd for not getting super involved with their hunting. She’s tried to bother them to force them to hunt properly, but ended up getting shunned instead. Oh, well.
