Cricket is a very loving Kenku girl who spends most of her time drawing in her leather-bound sketchbook. This is how she most often speaks to others (either by doodles or writing) because of the Kenku's vocal curse. They can repeat anything they hear perfectly, but can only say what they hear. She is very sweet, always having been taught to be kind to others- and she believes firmly that everyone deserves to be happy and loved, no matter what they have done. She easily forgives others, and is overly trusting- an eternal optimist.

Her optimism became her tragedy when she met a Tiefling by the name of "Elliot." He befriended her for the sole reason of blackmailing her parents with their child's safety. After he had gotten what he wanted, he murdered them all and left their bodies to rot. Cricket awoke as a spirit; grief-struck and desperately trying to find rest alongside her parents. Bound to her sketchbook and dragged away from her body when it was found by travelers and taken to a city. She was left to wander for 200 years, until she found a party of adventurers by chance. They had not realized she was a ghost at first, adopting her their own; however she could not remember her name, and they renamed her "Bean."

Of course, it took them awhile to figure out that she was not amongst the living, and even longer to accept she was actually dead. To make a long story short, they tracked down Elliot- who had actually died as well, but had been reincarnated- and watched him escape into a portal to the Abyss. They left, satisfied he could no longer hurt others, and later tracked down where her family's bodies had been discarded. They were missing, having been taken by cultists. Aforementioned cultists had nearly completed the ritual when Bean made an attempt to stop them by possessing one of the members. As soon as she had, they both jumped into a pit of fire awaiting in front of them, and from the ashes of the pit rose a Phoenix. Bean; no longer attached to her journal, but now forever stuck in the Phoenix assisted the party in killing it- and by doing so, ending herself as well. She and her family's bodies were laid to rest by the party- leaving only her memory and sketchbook behind.

"Uncle" Elliot - Her adoptive uncle who murdered her in cold blood. She trusted him deeply, and while she can trust him no longer, she does still love him, wishing the best for him despite everything. Cricket doesn't want revenge- she only wants reassurance he can't hurt anyone like he hurt her all those years ago.
