Stryx's Links
Stryx was with Abbey years ago when they were both under the ownership of Joyce. He was in love with him then, and he's still in love with him now. Some things never change, and he's never been able to let go. Seeing Abbey as happy as he is with such a perfect, loving family and Ruler in the place that he belonged, hurts. Once a bubbly, happy, playful, confident soul, Stryx is now shallow, broken hearted, and hopelessly depressed bearing not only physical but mental scars to go along with his difficult history.
Growing up together, Abbey always saw Stryx as a close friend, almost a brother. Being with Stryx helped him endure the torture of being in a nightblood pack, and gave him the love Stryx craved. After thinking he was dead after fleeing the pack, he has since moved on and feels guilty that Stryx sees that he’s been “replaced”.
Ruler is terrifying and hurt him horribly when they were far younger. Years have passed since then, but the hurt and the fear is still very much so present. He's jealous of Ruler, who has everything he'd ever dreamed of. He can't help but feel somewhat bitter and deeply envious.
Stryx was a sorry little thing when Ruler first saw him. The two were forced to fight despite the fact that neither truly wanted to. There was no choice in the matter. He associates him with a very bad, negative time in his life. He also knows that Abbey still has feelings for him deep down, and a part of him is most definitely jealous.
Datura is like the mom of the group, like a mom Stryx can't quite remember. He likes being around so many people, and he looks up to Datura because of how level headed and leader-like she is. He does his best to mimic the behavior he sees from her to make himself a better person, but he can never quite maintain it and falls back to his childish self in no time at all.
Stryx is a sweet little thing, even if he's a bit sad. He's good for Jay, and Jay seems to be good for him. She doesn't quite trust him at first, mostly because she doesn't want anyone to hurt Jay. He's family, and it's important to her that he's as happy as possible. When that doesn't happen, she welcomes him without a second thought and grows less apprehensive.
Milo is frightening and hostile. He fears for his own safety around him more often than not, purely because he doesn't know just what Milo is capable of. Would he kill him, if given the chance? Stryx can't say he'd put it past him. His spirit feels scared more than angry, so he tries not to take it too personally.
Stryx is a nightblood. He's dirty. He's vile. He's out to hurt everyone and everything he loves. He's stealing his best friend away from him and is going to drive him out of the family someday, for sure. He just knows it, and he doesn't trust him or like him one bit.
Coach was a sorry looking thing when Stryx met him. That impression has stuck with him, and he thinks of him as a somewhat delicate little guy. He is kind to him and is patient, being a kind person by nature anyway, and is probably amongst those that openly and willingly give Coach any attention he wants in the way of pity or coddling.
Jay was a strange light in a dark tunnel that Stryx literally and figuratively never saw coming. After almost being hit by a truck, and yelled at in the middle of the road, Stryx never would have guessed he'd grow to adore someone so deeply as he loves Jay. He thinks the world of him, and wishes he could give back even a tenth of what he's given to him.
Jay just enjoys having someone that enjoys music just as much as he does, and offers emotional support too? Even better.
