Garnet

Garnet's greatest pride revolves around that of his family, he embodies Havanta's values and is thrilled to discover that he has a daugher.

Havanta is one of the earlist establishments and was presumed lost before emerging nearly a decade later. The survivial and growth within the town is credited to acceptance of others, family and a relinace on natural goods. Garnet's parents struggled to conceive after the birth of their first and Garnet is a welcome gift.

His life is adylic till his brother and his mate are murdered which riles the town, causing it to retreat further. His parents take their orphaned grandchild in and decide to raise her as her own and Garnet gains a sibling. Garnet is thrilled to big brother though his sister soon becomes larger then he is. She tends to be the leader of the pair despite being much younger then him. He decides to persue biology following in his mother's footsteps and his life is idylic till ends up running across an outsider, Bay.

Bay is demanding and challenges what he has been taught and over the course the two from infatuated to seperating. In his mind, Nimbus is the reason why. She dislikes the outsider, calls her an idiot and goes out of her way to antagonize her. Garnet is unsure of how to deal with this, his parents aren't sure of what to do and he pleads for them to help, tell her to knock it off. Garnet's dismisal and refusal to take action not standing up for Bay lead to the end of their relationship.

Garnet iritated with his sister lashes out at her telling her she's adopted, Nimbus. His parents are pissed and Nimbus is hurt, she's already figured it out but to be told in this manner hurts. There aren't any more sleepovers in each others rooms and whispering and stealing treats from the pantry. Garnet resumes his studies becoming wraped up in them. The next time they really talk is when their father passes it is about him, his sister gets married and then she moves away and it's just him and his mother and soon it's just him. The loss forces him to reevaluate his relationships and encourage him to reach out to others amongst the community and his "sister". She doesn't respond and then one night she and her enteroge are there.

Garnet is aprehensive about her return, she doesn't tell him what happened and her son, Ray isn't talking much either. He listens and consoles her and they do not leave. They rebuild their relationship even though they still argue. Then oneday Ray, his nephew, comes and gets him and when he gets back another is there, he has no idea he had a daughter. He doesn't know what to make of it and neither does Almandrine.

Garnet does his best to make sure Almandrine is comfortable, he lets her come to her own conclusins, helps suport her choices and encourages her. Almandrine has a chance to be a kid, though he's already a father.
