Captain Pelt

It's unlikely the sorceror king Medet knew what a smiledog was when he created this particular dog soldier, but here we are. Pelt is an amalgmate construct very common in the king's monster army known as a Dog Soldier: literally just a dog and a human fused together and powered by semi-undead Dim energy. Pelt is wholly unremarkable physically and only has the rank of captain thanks to his uncannily human mouth: most Dog Soldiers are both unbearable to listen to and unable to say commands coherently thanks to various mish-mashed dog parts for a face. Pelt is captain of the entire Dog Soldier division and reports directly to General Dobranoc and the king.

Pelt is a scruffy brown-grey-white dog man with pale yellowish eyes and one ear permanently floppy. He's full of swagger and talks tough but in an actual fight he's average at best among the Dog Soldiers, and physically is more like a normal unaltered human who just looks weird. Typically he uses a shortsword and his sharp sense of self-preservation in battle, but prefers not to come down off his mount if he can help it.
