•Vhait•

Despite looking like something from a nightmare, Vhait is very kind and respectful. He grew up sheltered and wealthy, which shows in both his speech and world view: he is very idealistic and naive, seeing the world in a fairly black and white way. To him, all people who break the law are evil, and he is oblivious to how corrupt some people with power are. He has no mercy for those who are cruel and hurt others, but shows a lot of empathy for everyone else, especially those who are struggeling.

He listens to his heart more often than his head, and it's very devestating to him if things don't work out. He is fairly sensitive and takes a lot of things personally, which he tries to hide with aggression, but his attempts at being confident and intimidating usually aren't very successful. That doesn't mean that he will give up easily though. Vhait is very persistant, and if he has set his mind on something it is very hard to talk him out of it, especially if it's about confronting bad people.

Vhait was the son of a noble couple and was born shortly after the war had ended and the eastern leadership was established. Still, everything was a bit chaotic, and Vhait's father spent a lot of his time trying to make peace between and negotiate with the inhabitances of the nearby towns, away from his family. Vhait grew up very sheltered, partly because there were a lot of uprisings, partly because he was very sickly and had little interest in playing with other children or being outside. Only when he was a teenager he had enough of his mother's overprotectiveness and left his home more.

Soon he made friends with Serris, the son of a blacksmith, who he trained swordplay with. He was his first introduction to the world outside the castle Vhait called home, and he joined him when he was going to town and buying from the merchants. With time Serris expressed his dislike for Vhait's father and his soldiers, which Vhait couldn't really understand since his father was a good man in his mind, and he very stubbornly defended him. His mother didn't want him to go out on his own either, so he eventually returned to the castle.

When he got older however, he began to see why the people seemed to be so dissatisfied with his father. Every time a farmer came to him asking for help with bears or bandits he sent them away, sometimes with force, and when Vhait asked about it he told him that they couldn't afford loosing men to simple problems like that. There were other incidents as well where Vhait thought he or his men were way more harsh than necessary, but he brushed it off, not wanting to antagonize either.

That was until one day, he and Serris found an old woman who was being harrassed by guards. According to them, she was accused of being a necromancer, but Serris didn't believe them and stepped in when they lady begged for help. The situation heated up more and more when the guards tried to get pass him with violence, and although Vhait tried to solve everything with words up to this point, he became irritated when they touched his friend. He drew his sword, but before he could use it he had a spear in his chest.

The next thing he knew was that he was woken up by thunder, and shortly after he fell into a river. His clothes weighed him down, but he managed to crawl on land, his lungs full of water and a strange numbness pulsing through his body. He was utterly confused, not knowing where he was or what was happening, but slowly, he remembered. When he looked down to see if his memory of being impaled was just a nightmare, he saw that some of his skin had come off.

Panicked, he stumbled away, and eventually passed out. Waking up, he found a young woman staring at him, but before he could say anything he had an arrow between his eyes. This horrified both of them, and after she almost had a heart attack he managed to calm her down. Though suspicious, she allowed him to talk, and after he ensured that he wasn't about to murder everyone she loved she decided to help him finding out what the hell was going on.

• ● His body doesn't really function anymore. He cannot eat and has no heart beat or body temperature, his blood is black and gooey. While he technically doesn't have to breathe or sleep, he does both out of habit.
• ● He has a hole in his chest, a reminder of his death.
• ● He avoids anything reflective at all costs. Not only does seeing his face remind him of his situation, but he is downright terrified of his own face as well.
• ● His design is inspired by the Hollow design of Dark Souls 2(and by generic zombies of course). He also started out being my Dark Souls/Bloodborne character.
