About

Inkwell is an impulsive boy in his early twenties who wanders the Multiverse aimlessly and often finds himself in universes he shouldn't be. He is somewhat dense and easily gets himself in trouble, but he always manages to get himself back out of trouble in the end. He has a carefree attitude that some would take to indicate that he is shallow. Those people, however, would miss out on his true character. Inkwell cares very deeply about the people he encounters. He is often quoted as stating that every place he wanders to, he has stumbled upon for a reason. Everywhere he goes he believes there is someone he was meant to help, and he lives his life prepared to do whatever he can to help everyone he meets.

Background

Inkwell was raised to fulfil a prophecy related to how the rifted began to be a prevalent force in the multiverse. He was one of two people that fit the description, but in the end the prophecy meant a bit more than his caretaker thought it did, and the prophecy didn't necessarily apply to only one of them.

Ancestry, magic, and shapeshifting

Inkwell is descended from voidmages, but his ancestry is filled with generation after generation of almost everything besides voidmages. Most prominent is his dragon ancestry. A dragon ancestor's magic is typically dominant over any other magic in one's bloodline, but such is the same for void magic. As such, the void magic he's inherited from his voidmage ancestors is at odds with the light magic he's inherited from his dragon ancestry, and so both have been completely dormant for much of his early life. However, recently the void magic seems to be winning, with negative consequences so far. He is capable of shapeshifting into a dragon, as typical of those with dragon ancestry.

Relationships

Eli Aquila [ Ex-partner ]

Inkwell has long forgiven Eli for his mistakes and actions, even in cases where he probably didn't deserve it. He maintains an amicable professional relationship with Eli, but he's long moved on from his feelings for him.

Rosemary [ Student/friend ]

Inkwell thinks of Rosemary mostly as a friend, despite the fact that he gave her a good deal of her early training. He's always happy to see her, even if she's not always too thrilled to see him. He, as Xander, was a very strict mentor, but since that time he has loosened up to his normal, carefree personality.

Paige de Flor [ Friend ]

Inkwell is good friends with Paige and trusts her immensely. If she tells him something important, he listens. He knows she's a lot smarter than he is and he will trust her even if no one else does.

Quilla la Pluma [ Twin sister/co-candidate for prophecy ]

Inkwell has always enjoyed Quilla's company. Despite being twins, Inkwell has always seen Quilla as his "big sister." He respects her and always tries to follow her advice, though his carefree attitude sometimes prevents him from doing a good job at it.

Amber [ Wife ]

Inkwell loves his wife very much and is very forgiving of her flaws. He's known to bring out the best in her. They have a long, chaotic history, but one that has caused them to respect each other deeply.

Kokabiel [ Friend ]

Inkwell and Kokabiel have worked together often and they have a deep, lasting respect for each other. Inkwell Views Kokabiel as one of the most competent and capable Rifted in existence.

Parsley [ Friend ]

Inkwell honestly just needed to recruit a life mage and Parsley said she was a good one. He couldn't have cared less about her exile as long as it wasn't because she hurt someone. Inkwell believes in second chances, and felt Parsley was more than deserving.
