Farran was born in the small town of Arkala, Novuslyr in the country of Ashya. While his parents were never exactly well off, like most in the small, struggling, former coal town, they were never in outright poverty either, and were able to more or less comfortably raise both Farran and his two brothers. Farran would get along well with his parents, until he was a young teenager, in which he would discover something regarding him and his mother in one of her old journals, something that was never made known to him. Farran would keep his mothers secret, though the strain of the revelation and keeping said secret would fray the relationship between Farran and both of his parents, causing him to become wayward as a young adult. He would drop out of school when he was older to work full-time at the mechanic and autobody shop he had been previously working for, and later join Ashya's military when he became an adult. Before he left for basic training, he would get into an argument with his parents, and after storming away from Arkala, would not see his parents or his brothers for another decade.

The Achilles Project and Winter

Farran would serve in Ashya's army and do a tour of service in the overseas country of Leuvant, continuing his work as a mechanic alongside his duties as an infantryman. During his tour of service, his friend Jesse, whom had been a longtime childhood friend of Farrans, and who had joined the army with Farran, was killed during combat. Jesse's death would rattle Farran enough to send him back to Ashya to continue his years of service in the Ashyan National Guard. It was during his time in the Guard that Farran would be approached by his commanding officer with a job offer for an ecological project ran and funded by Ashya's government called the Achilles Project. Seeking a change of scenery and page, Farran would take the job as a wildlife tracker and tagger. It was during his time on the Project that he would unwittingly uncover the Project's true aim: the artifical creation and weaponization of genetically altered and modified animals. Farran, in his shock, would accidentally release one of the animals, a melanistic leopard, and flee the scene. The following day, after being threatened by the Project's director, Dr. Lycia Orlando, Farran would flee the city where the Project was being conducted and do his best to make his way back home.

This was before he realized he was being tracked and followed by the very same leopard he had accidentally freed. Though the cat meant him no harm, Farran was rightfully terrified of being stalked by a predator known for ambushing it's prey. It wasn't until he nearly lost his life to a bitter winter storm, in which he had already lost parts of his fingers, that the leopard made it known to him that she would not harm him, by protecting him from the elements. Delusional from the cold, Farran did not question how this was possible, but overtime, the two would form a close friendship, and Farran would name the leopard Rena. He would then resolve to himself that he would deliver Rena overseas and out of Ashya back to her natural range: Ineria.

In Spring Comes the Storms

Spring would soon arrive, and Farran would find himself meeting a woman by the name of Aspen. After Aspen was nearly unwittingly killed by Rena after the leopard perceived Aspen as a threat against Farran, Aspen would find the pair the following day and all but demand to go along with them. After all, in her words, she had the money and connections to actually make it possible to bring Rena out of Ashya. Though skeptical, Farran would eventually relent, and two became three as the trio made their way towards Ashya's borders. If only things were as simple as bringing Rena out of the country, as both Aspen and Farran would discover that there was more to Rena and the Achilles Project than met the eye, and the matter would only escalate and grow more esoteric from there...
