Harlow

harlow grew up with parents who had an 'in' with highly religious centicorns; her family received perks from the centicorn group if they assisted in (underground) researching of the affects that curses had on spinxyn bodies. this was a dangerous game, however, because failure to be of assistance would render them a liability to be disposed of: which, unbeknownst to harlow who had never been given the details of her parent's arrangement, happened. 

when harlow was a young teen, she came home from class one day to find that her parents had vanished. the strange centicorn that she had vaguely known throughout her life told her of her parent's "unfortunate accident", but ensured that they would take care of her until she was older; this took harlow out of her safe, (seemingly) humble life and mixed her in with some of the deepest layers of Nephfeism devotees. 

she followed the new life laid out for her, since at the time it seemed to be the only option.
