Fallout: New Vegas // Lonesome Road
Former NCR sniper; former mojave express courier
About
+ Loyal, attentive, reliabe, (somewhat) caring +
= Loner, straightforward, stoic, fatalistic, taciturn, pragmatic =
- Unapproachable, unstable, irritable, gloomy, blunt, reckless -
Local jerk in her world’s slowest redemption arc.
Former NCR sniper, who impulsively decided to quit after some very shitty events in her life. She changed a lot of jobs in a short period of time, due to her drinking problems and especially horrible temper back then. Her last career choice was being a Mojave Express courier, and..Well. The decision led her to very unexpected events. Never mix enormous amounts of alcohol with bullets in your head, fellas.
So, she’s an amnesiac NCR side courier, who found some friends in her revenge road movie and even has been slowly reflecting on her previous life — well, that parts of her she managed to remember — as well as her questionable deeds in the past. She was tricked and set up by her, as she just started to believe, friend, in the end. Oh, another life crisis, here we go again.

Design notes
● Build notes: 180 cm | 5' 11'' cm, inverted triangle. *Buff* Feel free to give her more visible muscles than I did, especially if you’re into stylization.
● She's a mulatto with a darker skin color! I’m not the most consistent with the exact tone I draw her with myself, but PLEASE make sure you don’t make her look white, just stick to the refs.
● Facial notes:
■ Square face shape (Sigourney Weaver style), aquiline and somewhat wide nose, average and often frowning eyebrows, Not thin lips in case you don’t simplify them much. Eyebags are also her rather common trait.
■ May shave her left eyebrow sometimes, but only in combination with shorter versions of her haircut!
● Scars: On the right eyebrow, on the forehead and on the temple, partially extending onto the forehead (from a bullet). Also a burn scar on the left shoulder. Feel free to incorporate some additional insignificant wounds/scars.
● Body markings: Has freckles, mostly visible on her face.
● Hair: Prefers short machine haircuts. And if her hair grew pretty long, hell, she’s Very Not Okay at the moment.
● Clothing style:
■ Anything masc-leaning, practical and not fancy will go! Probably also rather worn and dusty, considering her world specifics. May be combined with some light armor elements like holster, straps, shoulder pads and other such things.
■ Prefers biker-like stuff and military fashion, but basic casual stuff is also okay unless it doesn't look very obviously modern, you know. Although you may theoretically give her a suit for some formal occasions.
■ Her signature NCR ranger coat was scavenged approximately at the halfway point of her way to Vegas. She was never a ranger herself, when she was in the army, she would wear a default NCR armor, and after leaving and prior to getting a bullet in her head she would wear any of her typical basic clothing.
● Impression: Unfriendly and pissed-off for most of the time. Somewhat apathetic sometimes. Even her most sincere smile looks either awkward or resembles a grin.
● Weapon notes: Feels the most comfortable with a sniper rifle, but any kind of rifle/guns will go. Also always has a tactical knife of a free design. Just in case.
● Feel free to draw her with body hair and generally not-perfect skin if it fits your artstyle!
● There's no need to colorpick from her references, just try to keep the approximate colors/shades ratio recognizable and you cool.
My fave things ever/wishlist of sorts??
Art nouveau inspired things
Disco Elysium, Hades, Pathologic or Transistor inspired style of portraits.
Scenes in general, even sketchy ones. Personal god tier.
Well, I genuinely love sketchier/a bit messy pieces in general, so don’t stress much about rendering!!
Trading cards and posters/magazines front page styled things!
DAI tarot [i'm obsessed with them.] or original tarot.
Character interactions since. I love character interactions so much. Would love to see your characters interacting with mine as well, as pals or rivals or dunno just neutrally hanging around.
Anything lore-connected [story-related, referencing mentioned fave things etc etc] and slice of life stuff <зз
'Song art' (based on/containing song lyrics orrr poetry idk) is super cool
Playing around the symbolism of any kind [whether based off motives I’ve mentioned or your own associations for her]
Classical [uhh -ish? I count the XX century as well here so idk how to name it properly] art redraw. I love it when people make homages to the art they love <з
Retro and western/cowboy-ish vibes
Totally fine
Any mood of art, actually! I love peaceful soft atmosphere and cute interactions as much as I love darker stuff [angst, self-conflicts or character getting into some very very bad situations]
Other outfits [until it stays somewhat in-character? Check the Design notes tab]! I'm not that good at designing wardrobe, so if you like it, it's your finest hour!
Light or moderate gore is allowed, feel free to place her in dangerous situations, just avoid fatal injuries like losing body parts and breaking bones. I'm also okay with stylized gore [candy/fruit/flower and neon blood kind of things]
Meme/joke art if you have something vibing with her on your mind
Artistic/not sexualized nudity is 100% fine!
Drawing her with cigarettes/alcohol/weed/some in-setting drugs [mentats or med-x, which is pretty much just morphine]
Eating something
Swearing is fine, but please avoid slurs of any kind.
Colors and style experiments, including light design simplification, alternative palettes or anything like this, just make sure you keep her recognizable. I'm absolutely cool with eyestrain, glitches and any post-correction effects, go ham!
In general, well, you have artistic freedom until you conflict with already written information! I'm really curious to see your headcanons unless it doesn't cross her canonical lore!
Just be careful with 'donts' and you'd be fine!
It depends
I'm really *not* into pride flag-centric art. I don't mind respective pride flags being included as idk patches/pins on clothes for modern/second half of XX century versions of her, being overall small like colored heart or smth or being used as overall palettes for drawing if you feel like it, but pride avatars or the whole background being pride flag image is not really my cup of tea.
AUs — I'm 100% cool with references to these media, modern/XX century aus and survival stuff like zombie apocalypse aus maybe. Other aus/crossovers/etc are 'better ask first' (not if we're pals though, have fun however you want if we know each other <з)
Suggestive stuff is cool as a part of ship art with characters I pair her with [mentioned as their current/ex partners or just in ‘yeah you can ship them’ kind of context], as for bunny suits and stuff like that or 'sexual' posing
I'm only okay with shipping our OCs if we know each other and I'd still prefer to be asked about it beforehand, k?
Just don't 👺
Hatespeech/hateful topics are, probably, Very obvious thing, but. Still. And please please don't use slurs towards my ocs/in art for me in general, no matter how reclaimed they seem to be to you [i count words like slut/whore as well and I won't elaborate].
Please try your best to avoid major design mistakes and drawing obviously out of character things — stylization is fine, though, I'm talking about drastic change of body type or skin tone, hair texture, erasing notable facial features and so on. Just read the design notes, I’ve mentioned all the important things to keep in mind there.
Overall, don't erase characters’ identity. Don't change gender, race (and species in general, unless I specifically asked for it) and sexuality of the character.
Fetish art, even if overall SFW.
Very cruel and graphical gore with character going through fatal injuries like losing body parts.
Vomit/throw-up stuff

Dislikes
● Caesar's Legion. She hates these bastards with all her heart.
● Mr. Vegas (she HATES him commenting her every single action)
● Technologies. Doesn't know a thing about it and isn't interesting in learning
● Broken promises [she hates promising stuff herself as well]. Betrayal of any kind.
● Fire? I think she has reasons to feel Uncomfortable around it after that one Cook-Cook incident
● Her actual name. It sounded ridiculous to her even since her early teen years honestly.
● Dumb puns. Especially the ones made up by Jeremy. Egh.
Connections
Valerie
endgame partner (along with Pat)
Originally her spontaneous companion seemed to Jack mostly odd and funny, to some extent. Travelling for the sake of...travelling? and collecting old rusty garbage was not a sort of motivation to hit the road Jack could personally understand. But except for all the quirky mechanic specifics, the girl was quite alright. She turned out to be rather helpful with her repair and first aid knowledge. And she was quite relatable to Jack, at some point (typical gnc girl to gnc girl communication).
So, getting quite attached to her and a little bit giving a fuck about Val not getting herself in trouble was a natural thing, as they traveled together quite a lot. Jack didn't notice the exact moment she began to perceive Val's scientific ramblings and her occasional gremlin-esque behavior as charming, but when she noticed it (probably when someone else jokingly poked at Jack's very obvious favoritism for Valerie in almost any situation), she panicked and tried to back off. She didn't want to ruin another person's life. So the best decision she came to was to become the avoidant jerk towards the person who considered her a best friend, and literally everyone around would feel. Confused. Why do you do the things you do, Jack. So she was Just Like That for some time, until few people hinted to her and Junko directly told her that she's acting embarrassingly dumb. Jack apologised to Valerie, with no proper explanations, still, and preferred to act like that odd episode just never happened.
So they get back to being best friends with messed up boundaries, and Jack was alright with keeping things that way. Until she was once giving Val a self-defence/melee combat lesson, and after successfully scoring a victory in the little sparring session they had, Jack's ✨best friend✨ kissed her impulsively. A turning point where it wasn't possible to keep ignoring the elephant in the room. So. They get together, eventually. Jack very awkwardly tries to figure out how normal functional relationships should work. She tries very hard to become a better person. From this plot point, she is absolutely unbearable in her Val's loyal lapdog-coded behavior.
Pat
endgame partner (along with Val)
Jack met her at Freeside, via Jeremy who Pat originally contacted. Both found each other quite cool but didn't really interact much, until Pat took her brother and Jack as his friend to go watch that midnight science fiction feature thing she picked up a signal of. Uh. The three of them ended up abducted by cyborg weirdos. And The Old World Blues dlc happened. Pat and Val have teamed up quite a lot and they've really bonded during that time. And although a lot of unresolved tension was also there, it was still best friends with fucked up boundaries (more acknowledged by both sides compared to patjack dynamic due to lack of the idealisation part. it's 'she's just like me fr' situation instead) thing, plus some extra still acknowledged freaky/teasing episodes. Something both of them would miss after their return to Mojave, but would rather prefer none of that ever happened. Because Val who both of them also obviously had feelings for it, like, there. And both of them would rather back off than have at least one (1) completely honest talk (vulnerability killed their grandmas + they're unfortunately two sides of the same coin). They end up being together as a disastrous throuple, eventually.
The main thing about their dynamics is feeling understood. Very euphoric and creating a very strong bond between the two of them, but not necessarily a good thing in their case. Being thick as thieves and not judging each other is great, unless it comes to indulging in bad habits, still together and enabling each other to get into stuff you should probably talk each other off, normally. Hm. I guess sometimes nobody can understand a fucked up depressed girlfailure better than Another fucked up depressed girlfailure? At the end of the day, Jack is extremely attached to Pat.
Jeremy
stupid fucking kid
Her annoying companion as he out of the blue decided to follow her on her way to Vegas with all his dumb endless ramblings and joking around, her best friend as he saved her life a few times and turned out less one-dimensional than she used to think of him, her sworn enemy as he betrayed her at the end for the greater goal of his, leaving no chance for her to ever reunite with NCR [for better or worse, but it felt like a punch in the gut in any case].
They had a brief and very bitter verbal fight soon after the battle ended, and never directly contacted each other again. Jack claims she hates the bastard's guts and that he's dead to her, although deep inside she only hates the fact none of this is true. She misses the one who once was her friend. And ough it damages her so much when he 'dies'.
Johnny
oldman (affectionately) / buddy
Jack was untrustful towards him at first, but Johnny turned out to be just fine! She loves playing card games with him; he was the first one who managed to Successfully explain her how to play the caravan, and she really gets into it thanks to the oldman! And she doesn't mind helping him with the physical aspects of his work, like, to drag something or to find some materials, or maybe to help with repairing stuff in his little house. Something he absolutely would not bother herself with for anyone else at the beginning of the plot, but for some reason Johnny just naturally has this authority in her eyes. So, yeah, he's allright.
Lewandowski
late best friend; sniper partner
Vulture is her late best friend, they were inseparable since their teen years in NCR, and then both of them became snipers from the same sniper cell [Lewandowski was the spotter]. He was like a brother to her. She misses him so much though it's been years ago. His suicide not only left her completely heartbroken [and is like the main reason of her PTSD], but really pissed her off as she felt betrayed and deserted by her closest person who she perceived as a good example tm who /agreed/ with her that a suicide is fucking STUPID thing to do and then just? did it? because of the reason she barely saw valid enough? They’re my Roman empire
Jessey
ex best friend
Jessey was her best friend since their early years in NCR, zero braincells duo always up to some dumb chaotic action. He was very much like a lil bro for her, although…She was not very kind to him sometimes. Especially when they grew older, especially after their mutual best friend died and Jessey let some very important legion spy escape because he's a gullible bleeding heart. She really did snap at him the last time, which ended up terrible, leading to Jessey faking his own death for everyone including Jack. They met each other later and it was very very awkward for both of them, but at least both of them had time to analyze what was wrong with their past friendship.
Jack actually apologizes to Jessey. They kind of reconnect and hang out together as buddies, but now they're finally able to acknowledge they're too different people. And some things are still hard to forget or completely forgive. So, they're more of buddies than best friends in the current timeline.
Lindsey
ex friend; Very strained relationships
Egh. Ex best friend from the same childhood/teen friend group with Jessey and Lewa, although the more time passes it gets more obvious that those two were less close to each other, if being compared. The voice of conscience Jack never really liked to hear. Their relationships were ruined completely when both of their common friends were gone and they’re…no longer on good terms.
Junko
..awkward silence | ex friend / messed up situashionship..thing.
no fucking way, Another person caring about her she hurt in her NCR arc. wow. were pathetic 'oh but i don't even remember about that' or 'uhhh im really sorry' mumbles ever capable of fixing all the damage done? surely not.
Should I mention Junko is very hostile towards her in FNV timeline? Although still not hostile enough if you ask me <з
Dakota
«I fucking hope it hurts»
An episodic acquaintance who seemed to be her ally for some time [something something sierra madre dlc plot fan companion]. Who Jack may or may not developed a small and very stupid crush on. A ‘charming person who turns out to be a sleazy bastard in the end’ kind of story.
Feel free to draw her interacting with your characters if you want!
Trivia
● Motifs/associations for her are color red, chain dogs, fire, broken glass and cemetery [the empty grave ESPECIALLY].
● Inspiration [kinlist]: Daisy / Alice Tonner, Jasper, Sevika, Hank Anderson, Leone Abbacchio, Jotaro Kujo, Harrier Du Bois, Jean Vicquemare, Janette Vasquez, Javert, Jodariel, Iorek Byrnison
● She's a chain smoker and has definitely developed wiskey addiction lol.
● She is pretty religious, somehow. I think she's errr christian-ish, in a really generic and mostly just superstitious way. She didn't read The Booktm and lives in a post-apocalyptic civilization after all, sooo
