About
Every culture has their gods and their legends, and the Kingdom of Vindur is no exception. And what could be more revered in a kingdom reliant on the seas than the ruler of the water itself?
Though many believe the powerful dragon Delphine simply a myth, she is very much real. And she’s much more intrigued about the humans she watches over than any legend that they could think to conceive.

Delphine exudes a warm and motherly maturity, with a strong protective nature, especially to those who have a hard time defending themselves. Still, despite her knowledge about the sea and its ways, she's still very naive about life and customs on land. This naivety plus a general overly trustful disposition leads her to be pretty gullible and easy to trick. She’s curious to a fault, and is always looking to learn more about her own gaps in knowledge.
Story
Origins
Delphine herself no longer quite remembers how she came to be. Living for hundreds of years can have that effect, and to her, it doesn’t matter much if there is no one from the beginning to remember her either. The farthest back that Delphine can remember is swimming alone in the sea. From the moment that humans set foot into the seas, she tried her best to protect them from the rages of the weather. The many encounters that these sailors had with the peaceful dragon quickly built her up to be a goddess in the eyes of the people.
Reign
Being revered as a goddess definitely has its perks. Delphine could finally get a bit closer to the humans she was so intrigued by, and all the fresh fruit that she could possibly ever want to eat. Still, she wasn’t near as close to them as she longed to be. After all, when one’s on a pedestal, they can’t necessarily mingle among the people. Still, despite her longing, she took to her role very seriously, looking out for the humans that she was so fond of.
Bonds
Hundreds of years of protecting the kingdom of Vindur and its people had passed, when Delphine stumbled upon a child, wandering the shores of the waters during a storm. Immediately feeling protective of the young girl, the dragon made sure that the child remained safe throughout the terrible weather. This child turned out to be Katrin Madsen, the youngest child of the current king. The two quickly formed a bond, and due to the affection she felt towards the young princess, Delphine granted her a gift: the ability to raise and tame dragons like herself. Even as the princess grew older, the two remained very close, and Katrin in turn gives Delphine the gift of discovering the human world and what it has to offer.
Trivia
- While her dragon form is very intimidating and powerful, it's somewhat useless on land given that she can't move well when outside of water. Hence, she doesn’t like transforming in front of others.
- She has a large fascination with human performances in general, including movies, theatre, and songs.
- Delphine as of late takes more risks to mingle among humans to learn more about them. She has a lot of time and knowledge to make up with.
- When storms are brewing, her colors in hair and scales will become brighter, almost like a built in lighting system.
- She doesn’t get cold easily, and in fact enjoys chillier weather. Her body temperature runs pretty hot naturally.

The youngest princess of Vindur and Delphine’s first friend. Delphine cares deeply for Katrin and wishes to see her with nothing but happiness. She tries her best to help with whatever plights Katrin may be dealing with, especially if it's chasing away unwanted suitors.
As the head of Vindur’s navy, Merete is naturally one of Delphine’s most devout followers. She always leaves the best offerings to her shrine before any ship under her command leaves the port, and as such, Delphine is very fond of her as well. She’s just a tad more intimidated by her aggressive personality, so she doesn’t personally appear to her often.
Delphine is every bit of fond of Katrin’s daughter as she is of Katrin herself. Anytime that she visits Vindur, the dragon gladly catches up with Hester and her stories of Anthea. They often talk of having Delphine visit at some point in the future.
