About

Background

Danny was born shortly after the end of WWII (1946), and grew up through the 50s and 60s in a small nowhere southern town. During his teenage years, he was part of a greaser gang. Since it was such a quiet town, he committed a slew of crimes. Danny particularly got a thrill out of stealing and hotwiring cars and taking them on joyrides. This led to his interest in car mechanics. He had a few run-ins with police, but somehow managed to always get off easy. Danny was rarely home, if ever. He hated it there. He mostly couch-surfed with the help of his greaser gang friends.

Danny’s entire life was changed after one night: a vampire attack. He was turned into a vampire. Danny slowly drifted away from his friends. He could only be out at dark. His friends were aging, and he wasn’t. He eventually began travelling across the country (mainly sticking to the eastern half of the US), hitchhiking whatever transportation he could find, meeting many people, and gaining new perspectives. Danny eventually wound up in Lakewood, quickly making enemies and friends there. He now lives with Simon and Robert, two other supernaturals with similar immortality cases.

Personality

Danny is a very extroverted, social, and talkative person. He can start up a conversation with little effort, and tends to ramble a lot. He especially loves being around people he can be loud and obnoxious with, and cause chaos with. He definitely doesn’t act like he takes things too seriously. However, he can switch to serious mode if needed, but will usually keep a bit of his chaotic edge. While he is chaotic, he can be somewhat reasonable, and is respectful and empathetic to those around him. Danny is very capable of talking about tough subjects; he’s been through a lot in his many years, and knows the world can be an unkind and unjust place. He will fight like hell to protect those vulnerable or that he cares for. He can be very kind, but will not coddle you and pretend everything is sunshine and rainbows.

Danny HATES authority and people in positions of power. Too many times he’s seen that power abused. He really doesn’t abide by the law, frequently breaking it. He rather just does what seems most right and justified in a given situation, even if he is committing a crime. Danny is very willing to resort to violence. Not out of anger, but by learning from experience that sometimes, talking with your enemies just isn’t viable.

Abilities / Skills

As a Vampire, he can't be in sunlight, has sharp fangs he can bite with, and seems to not physically age. He seems to also have extremely heightened sensitivity to the smell of blood, and be unaffected by cold or heat. Nothing about his vampirism is particularly unique, other than just not fitting the traditional aesthetic of vampires. In a fight, he is more willing to use his own physical strength and weapons, rather than rely only on sneaking in the shadows to attack from. He will grab anything lying around and use it as a weapon. He prefers using blunt force in combat.

Trivia

• Danny is EXTREMELY skilled with car mechanics. His self-taught knowledge started with the crimes from his teenage years. He’s become very familiar with the inner workings of cars, and can troubleshoot and modify a lot of things. He’s managed to get a 60s Cadillac back into working condition, which has become his main vehicle.
• Danny, being born right after WWII, is a baby boomer. The younger supernaturals will affectionately call him a boomer, and he goes along with it.
• Danny owns a stolen shotgun. However, it’s not his first weapon of choice, and he treats it more as an emergency last resort. He has a preference for blunt melee weapons. Danny often will carry a wrench for said purpose, but also for the other utility it can provide.
• Being born and raised in the south, Danny has a southern accent!
• Danny didn't graduate from highschool. Only being able to go out at night made it a bit difficult to.
• Danny’s birthday is December 13th. During his birth year (1946), it was a Friday the 13th. It’s also known as ACAB day!

Relationships

Simon [ Tiny Roommate ]

A fellow vampire, and that's about where their similarities end. They have a mutual understanding of eacother due to vampirism, but have wildly different experiences. Danny does sometimes bother Simon with attempting to socialize, and calling him short and younger than him. Otherwise, he has a basic respect for him.

Robert [ Ghost Roommate ]

Danny doesn't really know much about Robert. He just knows he was murdered, and that's about it. He understands Robert has a much closer bond with Simon. Danny doesn't ever intentionally prod at Robert, but Robert will sometimes lash out at him. The two mostly keep their distance.

Aspen [ Friend / Adoptive Niece ]

The daughter of two of his friends. Danny can see aspects of both her parents in her. He got to see her grow up, and has pretty much known Aspen her entire life. Now that she’s a teenager, she can now engage in more chaotic activity with Danny. Aspen looks up to him, and he recognizes that. In spite of that and their big age gap, Danny views Aspen as an equal, and will gladly engage in dumbassery with her.

Autumn [ Adoptive Sister ]

Despite having no biological or legal relation, they call themselves siblings. They’ve had some similar experiences as supernaturals, and have bonded over that. He’s glad to see how she’s grown as a person from when he first met her, and is very happy for her and Anthony’s relationship!

Anthony [ Adoptive Brother-in-law ]

Danny calls him his “partner in crime” based on some 80s shenanigans they got up to. Anthony would rather forget it, but will at most acknowledge the title. Danny recognizes that Anthony has mellowed out a LOT since his teenage years, and is a bit more dull to hang out with. Nonetheless, Danny is happy for where Anthony is in life.
