Lakewood is a small Midwest town surrounded by woods, bordering a river leading to a nearby lake. Throughout its history, Lakewood has come to be notorious for its many supernatural happenings. Haunted places, mysterious disappearances, and creatures terrorizing townsfolk. There have been several rumors of residents having supernatural identities, such as being a werewolf, or a beastly shapeshifter.

Many humans are wary of these supernatural folk and strange happenings, either keeping their distance from these folk, or outright ostracizing them. Many supernaturals in turn have kept their identities secret in hopes to avoid harassment, and blend in with the humans. This divide has stood for generations, and is all that many of Lakewood’s residents know.

But why is it this way? Does it always need to be this way?
