Lottie Lowery

A young man with fair skin, wavy nearly white blonde hair, pale blue eyes and narrow features. Lottie needs glasses, but only wears them when studying or in class out of fear of breaking them causing him to be constant squinting without them as he can see things up close well enough that he can read, but everything at a distance is one terrible blur. Lottie wears dark sunglasses whenever he can get away with it to somewhat hide the fact he has nystagmus; though he often has his head tilted so he can get his eyes to focus.

Lottie mainly dresses in plain, older hand-me-down or thrifted clothes leading to him either looking overly formal or out of date. He does get cold easily so he will often wear warm clothes year round. Lottie is particularly fond of a navy wool pea coat he owns as it was bought for him by his boyfriend.

Lottie is terrified of other people using knowledge about him against him. So he puts up a persona for others to interact with to protect himself, stiff with a monotone speaking voice, and polite almost to the point of being overly formal, he wants people to believe he is just a boring young man who’s entire life revolves around school and music, a shell of a person.

Lottie tries to keeps others well away from him, and discusses only what he considers to be safe topics. He has always had a hard time connecting with others, and this issue has only worsened as he's gotten older. Lottie struggles with sense of self and recognizing his own value as a person due to past experiences, mental health issues, and a complicated relationship with religion. Lottie firmly believes himself to be a horrible sinner and knows that everyone around him can sense it, and are waiting for him to mess up so they finally have solid proof against him.

Lottie desperately tries to ascribe meanings and find reasons for events in his life, despite thinking that life is overall meaningless, doing so until he spirals into crushing existential dread. He refers to himself as a psudeo-philosopher and a huge hypocrite, and isn't totally wrong. Wildly contradictory in his behaviours and privately self destructive, Lottie is often horrified with how he acts during his extreme lows, but can't get himself to stop.

• Plays the viola, violin, and piano. Focuses mainly on viola since he actually owns one, and really only plays the piano when he attends church in his hometown or if requested to at parties.
