Meredith (BG3 AU)

Species: Halfling (Asmodeus Tiefling/Human)

Class: Rogue (thief subclass) 

Background: ex-Aristocratic Noble turned criminal (mostly for slightly (very) illegal merc work). 

Age: She's around in her late 20s-early 30s (just because most of the cast is spanning from like 25-200 lmfao)

Pronouns: Any Pronouns, mostly She/He

Weapon of Choice: Rapier, has the duel-wielding feat and uses a dagger in her other hand.

Playstyle: Normal (might do a durge run w/ her in the future though)

Relationships

Shadowheart: Romancing her, the most UNLIKELY couple ever. If "I can fix him," says woman who is worse" was a couple (the woman is Shadowheart).
Mer likes her because she's intrigued by her mystery and wants to unravel it but also understands how it feels to be secretive of a past you aren't proud of. Shadowheart thinks she's an idiot and is sick and tired of having to cast cure wounds on her for accidentally blowing herself up (she is madly in love with her but is repressing it HARDCORE).

Lae'zel: Mer 100% found her appealing the moment she first met her (doing a huge flip over her head and pointing a sword at her will do that to a woman), and has her on the party partly because she's an amazing fighter annnnd partly because Mer finds her hilarious. Lae'zel approached her about hooking up (the way she normally does in game) after Mer called her out for looking at her differently. They hooked up at the Tiefling Party at the end of Act 1 annnnnd pretty much were each other's booty calls for most of Act 2 until Shadowheart finally got the guts to confess to Mer. It was (mostly) amicable, though, when she broke it off (Lae'zel was probably a bit miffed over SHADOWHEART winning the toxic yuri love triangle tbh over her /j)

Astarion: To the entire camp's dismay, these two are best friends. Worsties, if you will. Two rogues gotta stick together, after all! Mer was the first person to find out Astarion was a vampire (as she caught him trying to bite her. awko taco), but didn't care, considering...why would she. They all had their own secrets and baggage, who was she to judge the guy? They bond on sarcasm and being ex-Nobles from Baldur's Gate, even if Meredith was born long after Astarion's time (She thinks it's INSANELY funny that he was a magistrate, though. Look at my judge broooo I'm gonna die /j). Mer also lets Astarion feed off of her every now and then since everyone else isn't exactly keen on it. They also probably flirt with each other as a joke (they think it's funny when the entire camp looks at them weirdly).

Karlach: Karlach isn't in Mer's party, but she IS probably (outside of Shadowheart and Astarion) the most close to Mer in terms of campmates. They're both tieflings, after all! They are banned from being in the same party likely due to the mayhem they'll cause /j. Honestly, Mer probably hangs out with Karlach the most outside of Shadowheart and Astarion (and if she isn't sparring with Lae'zel). Will also wrestle her for fun (and accidentally nearly set the camp on fire in the process, probably.)

Wyll: Mer LOVES Wyll. She understands his troubled relationship with his father immensely, not to mention his troubled pact with Mizora (Who needs to fucking watch her back). They're also both rapier wielders, so Mer often asks Wyll to spar or train with her over anyone else (Lae'zel or Karlach if she needs a different weapon in the mix). I had the prompt to ask him to dance during the Tiefling Party and felt SO BAD having to not do it considering it's his romance scene but on god Wyll I'll make a Tav for you eventually.

Gale: Meredith is willing to feed Gale the magical artifacts he needs to survive but if he makes her sit down for a 30 minute lore dump one more time she's going to make him explode herself /j. (They get along Fine, but Mer probably talks to him the least. Sorry Gale).

Halsin: While she finds his soft nature sweet, and is IMMENSELY grateful to have a guy who can turn into an entire bear on the team, Mer isn't SUPER close to Halsin. She appreciates his free-spirited nature, though, likely one of the biggest things the two bond on, that and a good drink.

Minthara: Mer saved Minthara after having an odd feeling that the drow staying alive would benefit them greatly in the future, and was proven to be right once they saved her from Moonrise Towers. She thinks Minthara's dark sense of humour is fucking hilarious. (I haven't gotten there yet in game, but I do think they'd get along. We'll see in the future).
