The one thing most people notice about Gidget right away is that she’s extremely focused. When there’s something to be done, she will do that thing until it’s completion. It’s difficult to tear her away from a task, no matter how boring it gets. This means that she comes off as a bit of a workaholic, but she doesn’t care.

Gidget doesn’t do well with emotions, both hers and other peoples. When it comes to others, she finds that their emotions often detract from the situation at hand. Couldn’t they wait to have emotions until later? Her own are simply confusing and often get in the way. Often, Gidget dismisses her own emotions and ends up bottling them, only for them to explode later and leave her even more confused than she was before.

One of Gidget’s favorite things is puzzles. She enjoys taking a challenge head on and figuring out how all the pieces fit together. She’s quite good at it too - she’s gotten the Stellar Mob out of many a sticky situation by being able to see all angles of a problem and how things fall into place. Gidget is definitely the person to go to if you need help with a puzzle.

It’s rather difficult to tell how sarcastic Gidget is being at any given moment. This is because she’s a total deadpan snarker: sarcasm is like a second language to her, and she’s not afraid to use it in every situation she can. Much of her sarcasm is also a vessel for her innate cynicism - she’s not afraid to believe the worst of any and every situation ever.

When it comes down to it, though, Gidget will not ever abandon those whom she loves, even if that circle is small. She is fiercely loyal to a fault and puts her close friends and family over anything and everything to do with the mob or the company. Sure, she does the latter out of duty, but if it came down to it she’d save those close to her if it meant losing the power and influence they had in the mob.

Gidget was not born the rich matriarch she is now. Instead, she was born in the slums of a cyberpunk dystopian desert planet where she quickly learned how to avoid the law in order to survive. First stealing expensive computer parts and selling them, then slowly learning how they work, and finally becoming a hacker, one good enough to get paid the big bucks.

From a young age, Gidget had it impressed upon her that she should not let anyone know that she was a ringox. There were horror stories about aliens to that planet being turned into experiments and zoo animals despite being sapient. So, she kept up a disguise of being a golden haired young woman of the native species. No one had to know.

Gidget would’ve likely remained a hacker for hire, always hiding her species, for the rest of her life if she hadn’t stumbled upon the Stellar Mob. She was hired for them once and was paid well, so when they needed a hacker again she was hired again and again. Eventually, she got to meet the boss - a tall, pale, beautiful woman named Christine.

Immediately, Gidget was smitten. How could she not be? Christine was gorgeous, charming, clever, and there was something about that cruel glint in Christine’s grey eyes that made Gidget go wild.

Christine must’ve seen the desire in Gidget’s eyes, or something to that effect, because the two started up a relationship. In the beginning it was merely confined to the bedroom, but as they got to know each other, it turned into something that could almost be called love.

Unfortunately, Gidget was still hiding her big secret: that she was a ringox. She had no way of knowing how Christine would react, no way of knowing if she was truly safe. And then, one morning, she’d briefly reverted to her natural form while Christine slept, only for Christine to come downstairs and see.

After a few minutes of panic, Christine revealed that she, too, was a ringox and that it was okay. This proved to push the two of them even closer together than before. They even started a domestic life: a child named Xavier and soft, domestic worried along with all the mafia stuff.

And then Christine's rival showed up and they were forced to flee to a planet with no technology, only strange magic Gidget couldn't wrap her head around. She couldn't understand it, just lay low and tried to figure out how ringox were treated here, if she could maybe finally be herself.

One day, while wandering the town she and Christine were living in, Gidget and Xavier stumbled across an Oracle. Not just any Oracle, mind, but a ringox one. Though blind, the Oracle could sense that that Gidget and Xavier were ringox. The Oracle, Jennine, was so so elated to meet other ringox that she made excuses to come meet them.

Gidget was smitten right away, and after a conversation with Christine where boundaries were laid out, Gidget started a casual relationship with Jennine. It would've remained so if a night of shapeshifting experimentation didn't result in Gidget's unintentional pregnancy.

That was the catalyst that forced Christine to properly meet Jennine. The two hit it off, Jeninne was added to the relationship, and the little family grew (along with the blood on their hands). Admittedly, Jennine and Christine may not have completely gotten along but they love each other so no one cared.

With Christine and Jennine by her side, Gidget was ready to conquer the world. She loved their little family and the power they held. Everything was perfect!

That is, until Christine brought home Primrose. While Jennine and Christien got along quickly with the new lover, Gidget couldn't help but dislike her right off the bat. Younger, annoying, stealing all of the attention that was meant for Gidget. This remained a source of conflict for decades, the only passion between Gidget and Primrose borne out of hatred and the stupid decisions made while horny.

And then the two managed to bond over something completely by accident: automata. Although they went about it in different ways, they were able to befriend each other through their love of weird little robots. It was a slow friendship that took until the birth of their daughter Chip to turn into proper love.

With family drama out of the way, it was time to focus on other things. When Christine wanted to start a company in the Golden Isles, Gidget knew she'd be forced into the boring office work, forced into keeping things sane (like always). She accepted her fate with dignity and is presently stuck focusing on it, not the interesting stuff she really wants to do. Of course, if given the chance she'd absolutely jump ship. It's time for Gidget to move on and do other, more interesting things.

NOTES
  • Although Gidget is the second in command at Circle Crops, she spends much of her time doing hacking for the Stellar Mob. Quite frankly, she prefers the hacking. Less people to deal with.
  • Unlike her wives, Gidget has never taken on a secondary partner. It’s not because she’s super exclusive, she simply has a difficult time with people and dealing with more people in a semi-romantic setting is not ideal.
  • Gidget likes to build weird little robots as pets. Some of them could almost be mistaken for real animals, until you realize that something is just a little bit off.
  • Along with being a hacker, Gidget is also particularly skilled at mechanics. She especially likes to work with technology considered outdated, like gasoline powered cars or other clunker vehicles.
  • When not being all official or formal or whatever, Gidget can often be found in lounge clothes that she has somehow, inexplicably, gotten oil on. Said oil is also often on her fur or skin. What are you doing Gidget.
Relationships

Wife

Christine is the love of Gidget’s life. The two bounce off each other well - Gidget’s practicality and ability to get things done meshes well with Christine’s big dreams and ruthless ways. Also, they have a bond that has stood the test of centuries. How many others can boast that? Very few.

Wife

From the moment Gidget saw Jennine, she was in love. She could spend hours dissecting everything she loves about Jennine and still not be done singing her praises! Despite that, the two do have some clash of opinion that they still need to work through. Gidget is very future driven, whereas Jennine is a little bit scared of the future because of her visions. This has led to them butting heads on occasion, but its nothing that a few days apart and a proper conversation can’t fix.

Wife

Let’s be real: when Gidget and Primrose first met, they did not like each other. Gidget moreso - how dare Christine just bring home another woman to be fully part of the relationship, and how dare Primrose be so peppy and cheerful all the time? It took many years for Gidget and Primrose to come to a compromise about dumb tiny robots, and eventually fall in love. Their relationship is one of constant affectionate bickering and the promise of dying for each other if it came down to it.

Friend

Raquel reminds Gidget a lot of Christine. Not in a familial way but rather they share the same ambition. For a hot second, Gidget found herself uncomfortably attracted to Raquel. However, when Raquel asked her about technology, that weird crush was instantly replaced with the desire to teach Raquel everything she knew. Nowadays, they share a close friendship where they talk about robots together. It’s great.

Child

Xavier is Gidget’s eldest child, and quite frankly the one she is the most pleased with. She goes out of her way to spend her limited free time with xer, which is impressive considering how little free time she has in the first place. Xavier appreciates the attention she gives, both to xer now and xer as a child. They’re quite close.

Daughter

Gidget has extremely conflicting feelings about Medusa. On the surface, she’s upset with Medusa for leaving. Didn’t Gidget do her best as a mother? Doesn’t the family mean anything to Medusa? There’s a bit of anger, barely recognized but waiting to explode out nonetheless. However, beneath all that Gidget is extremely worried about Medusa. Despite everything, Medusa is still Gidget’s baby and Gidget hates not knowing if she’s alive or not.

Friend

Gidget cannot help but be wowed by everything Kathyrn has accomplished. Kathryn is tough, rugged, and an absolute charmer among the younger women. Even though Katryn may not be genetically Gidget’s daughter, the two are quite close anyways. Kathryn even comes to Gidget for relationship advice, even if Gidget isn’t particularly amazing at giving it.

Child

Although Gidget has tried her best to love Alice, there is a quiet disgust at Alice’s existence that she’s sure the younger ringox has picked up on. It’s not Alice’s fault, of course. It’s just that Alice was born during a particularly rough patch in Gidget’s relationship with Christine because of Primrose and Alice reminds her so painfully of that time. Alice does her best to please Gidget, but to no avail. There’s nothing that Alice can do to deal with Gidget’s highly repressed emotions about that whole mess.

Child

If Gidget didn’t know any better, she would’ve thought that Chip was her clone. That child is so much like her young self it's scary. The one thing that separates the two is the fact that Chip loves to tell stories and Gidget doesn’t. Gidget does, however, like to listen to Chip’s stories. It’s fun!

8054734?1598829165
Daughter

Gidget is amazed that Eloise turned out to be so sweet when the rest of the family is a disaster. Unfortunately, this also means that Eloise doesn’t particularly like the rest of the family and tends to avoid them. This is awful, as Gidget does care about her quite a bit.

6565828?1586741270
Son

Although Horaz was a surprise (who knew Christine would bring home a random child one day?), Gidget loves and supports him nonetheless. She’s not particularly great at it - it’s been a while since she’s parented someone so young and she has so much else to do, but at least he doesn’t hate her yet.

7320584?1594399677
Ex

Years ago, Gidget might’ve felt some sort of emotion towards that relationship. Might’ve even felt bad about the way she treated Ulyssess towards the end of the relationship. It’s been centuries though, and both of them no longer care. They see each other in brief on the few occasions Gidget interacts with Lark’s crew, and they’re both very happy with the lives they have now.

1235841?1550536463
Lawyer

Copper is the lawyer who’s kept Circle Crops out of trouble, and she’s done a damn good job of it. Gidget appreciates her work immensely (she’s rather out of the loop on all the Golden Isles’ laws because there’s so many places and laws she has to juggle) and tries to give her some gifts of appreciation. Like rare wine. Copper definitely appreciates it.

6293224?1584235106
Annoyance

Gidget has no particularly strong emotions about Gertrude aside from being annoyed that she keeps trying to bust the Stellar Mob. Although Gidget is aware of the relationship Gertrude has with Christine, she thinks it's rather silly for it still to be relevant all these centuries later. After all, her own failed relationship no longer has any bearing and it’s been roughly the same amount of time.

4717684?1584765201
Enemy

Agnes may not always be messing with the Stellar Mob, but when she does it’s always a huge pain to deal with. Plus, she doesn’t even have a good reason to do so! Gidget cannot understand this woman and frankly doesn’t want to deal with any of that at all.
