Chant (Balance)'s Links
The Goddess was a godsend(snrk) for Chant. During a time where she was desperately looking for help bettering the world, down ascended this goddess with assistance from the heavens themselves!
Chant revels in her majesty's presence, even if it's more friendly, rather than in a worshipping sense. Whether or not she can sense what kind of person the Goddess really is remains to be seen.
Chant is a wonderful darling - a wonderful darling that represents what she wants out of the world. A good, lovely person who just want the best for others. And that's why being around this child is so infuriating and aggravating for this Goddess. As much as she wants to devour the mind of this child, more than anything in the world because it's just so SWEET, she instead has decided to use Chant, and their little ragtag team as a means to her goal of making the best, most lovely world to eat. As for Chant herself? She find the lack of worshipping... insulting. But she'll grit her teeth and deal with the brat in a sickeningly nice and accepting manner until she gets what she wants. And when she does, there won't be any Chant left.
When Chant first like, physically met Flix, he was a little intimidating to her. But when the slow and soft-spoken mara(she thinks he's like a really tall fox or something) opened his mouth and tired-but-nerdy things came out, she quickly got along with him. Maybe not necessarily because she knows much about him, but more because he doesn't push her away. He actively invited her to his adoptive father's home and gave her soda(a mistake to be sure), so Chant firmly believes that he can be all worn and tired at the world as he wants; there's still some part of him that really does care, and she wants for nothing more than to bring it out!
So far Flix has only met people who led very similar lives and talked about very similar stuff, which got very repetitive and bland and boring very fast, and that is something he hates, and he can't understand the point of simple casual conversation.
..And then there's Chant. There's SEVERAL things that make her different from other people, at least to Flix. Firstly, she's a child, or at least looks and acts like one, and everyone knows children perceive the world differently. Secondly, she's a MAGIC child, and people who have stuff to do with magic are bound to be at least a little bit less boring than the rest. And thirdly, she's an optimistic, world-loving magic child, which is something new entirely compared to all these people who worry about the same stuff always. And she's this one slightest hint of positivity Flix allows in his life, with her childish behaviour, getting drunk with soda and even going as far as to calling Flix her friend, and everytime she randomly pops up in front of Flix, he finds himself curious about what she might have to say or what new ideas she's come up with this time.
Chant's feelings on Princess are a little confused, not in the least because she represents everything Chant dislikes about herself. Misfortune forced upon a smol murderous child who acts out and tries so hard to be bad because they think being bad is the only way to survive.
She really wants to help people like Princess, and she certainly doesn't hold the "tried to kill her" thing against the angler fish, but... Mostly, Chant just tries to keep her out of mind. It makes her feel really sad and powerless, ,and she doesn't want to feel that way.
Little magical child that has it good and can beat her up with magic. Stupid goddamned child is always happy and smiling and it pisses her off. Stupid fucking piece of shit kid thinks they have the right to come up to her and feign friendship. Well honestly this little brat is the biggest insult. Because she doesn't want sympathy, and she definitely doesn't want it while looking at a child, who's younger than her, stronger than her, and better off than her, telling her what to do. She hates Chant, just like she hates a lot of people, and Angelica would probably just stab Chant in the back for some more bread. She needs it more, after all.
Oh my god she's adorable. Like, it's always pleasant to meet fans - especially young ones - and Chant... well, Chant certainly left an impression. The young little nervous girl who wanted to meet the Barbarian King it was... it was just nice, y'know?
Plus, that li'l head seemed to be filled with ideas! Creativity in youth is definitely something to be cherished. Kath just hopes any inspiration she gives to the li'l one is, y'know... as a positive example. It's sometimes hard to be a positive example when you're known for destroying people.
A curious child - reasonable. Seth was rather driven by curiosity at that age too. Albeit... he didn't have much choice when it came to plunging himself into danger. This girl, however good her intent, is better to stay at a safe distance - lest she get herself hurt.
Albeit, there is a sense of... power from her. Power which evidently influences her to 'play hero'. A delusion of sorts... One which would be dangerous to her, should a figure like Mark seek to take advantage of her whimsy.
