ABOUT
Sairi is a cheerful demon lady, caring and outgoing... or at least, that’s the image she tries to keep. While she is like that deep down, she holds a deep resentment towards her clanmates that keeps her from showing these emotions sincerely. Since they used to ignore her when she was a homeless orphan, she believes their every action towards her to be made to stay in her good graces and earn her favour as the future matriarch, and therefore, they’re all dishonest and self-interested. There’s no way she’d care for such deceivers... but she’ll make them believe she would. Having them believe they have her favour will make them easier to bend to her will when she finally becomes the matriarch, and thus, it’ll help her achieve her dreams.
Her honest affections are few and hard to earn, but unwavering once obtained. Her most beloved people in the whole world are the ones who did look out for her when she was alone and helpless, those she came to consider family: Gael’s family; and amongst them, the tiny and cute Gael was her absolute favourite. Deep down, her greatest wish is to have these people who truly care about her always close by her side. Unfortunately, Gael came to dislike her and distance himself from her due to her act of being friendly with the people who used to shun her, and now, he’s even deserted the clan and left for the human world...
For the sake of winning back her dearest “little brother”, she’ll follow him to Gea and do all in her power to have him back by her side. And now that she’s beginning to hold some of the powers a matriarch has, “all in her power” is really nothing to scoff at.
TRIVIA
- Her full name is Byalgar Sairi’dzi, or Sairi, future matriarch (dzi) of the White Raven (Byalgar) clan. Demon names always state the clan and one’s position in it, as that’s believed to be what defines the person the most.
- While Sairi’s never quite liked sweets herself, she was known when she was little for being always on the hunt for sweets. This is because she would then give her haul to Gael, who’s got a huge sweet-tooth, to bribe him into spending time with her.
- When she was little, she’d sometimes ask Gael if he’d stay with her forever so long as she gave him a sweet every day, to which the boy very seriously replied he would. Meaningless as it was, being both of them so young, Sairi still holds this promise dearly.
- In Reon’s tradition, matriarchs take their position either when the previous one dies or when the substitute turns 30, so Sairi’s turn to rule is coming pretty close (demons age slightly slowlier than humans).
- Another interesting tradition in some regions of Reon, born from a popular legend, is that matriarchs are expected to look frail and defenseless, as a sign of pride for their warriors, signifying that they’re so capable, the matriarch has never had to enter combat herself. This, however, is just a ruse. Most of the matriarchs who follow this tradition, Sairi included, are actually quite lethal.
- All demons have a favourite lizard. Their homeworld has a huge variety of reptiles, and there’s an ancient tradition of catching one and offering it to the person you like as a form of courtship. While traditionally the more colourful ones are the better catches, Sairi’s favourite type are actually albino lizards, completely colourless except for their eyes.
ARTIST NOTES
- She’s got fangs
- Her lips, tongue and inside of her mouth have an orange-ish tone, as does her blood. Her blushes, therefore, are also of an orange hue
- Her hand and toe nails are a little long and sharp, all naturally white
- Her eyes have a green outer rim and a yellow inner core
PALETTE

Gael • Childhood friend
Her favourite person in the whole world, Sairi always found the tiny Gael incredibly cute and thought of him as a little brother. She’s quite heartbroken at his current rejection of her.
STORY
Being an orphan, and as per her people’s traditions, Sairi was raised not by one specific family, but by the members of her clan. Ideally, this would have meant that she’d have been taken care of by everyone equally, but in truth, most people in her clan could barely be bothered to even glance in her direction. Because of this peculiar upbringing, Sairi learnt to be pleasing and adorable just so people would be more willing to having her around, but even so she almost always ended up in the care of Gael’s family, so she grew especially close to them. Gael in particular was always like a lovely little brother to her, and she could always be seen following him around to hug him or pat his head, or trying to buy his attention by bribing him with whichever candy she could get her hands on.
When the clan’s matriarch announced that she’d be taking Sairi as her successor, however, everything changed for her, as she suddenly found herself surrounded by people who begged to have her attention. Though she loved her newfound authority and relevance, it came at the price of losing her dearest Gael, who grew more distant to her the more people started flocking around her. In truth, Sairi doesn’t care much for these people who only begun caring about her existence when she became important, and is distraught at how she’s lost the bonds she truly valued. As the next matriarch, she needs to show herself strong and unwavering, especially if she is to accomplish all that she’s dreamed of, but every now and then she wonders just how much she’d be willing to sacrifice to get back what she used to have...
LIKES
- Getting people to do what she wants (with sweet words)
- Fine clothes
- Kindness and selflessness
- Albino lizards
- Weird or out-of-the-norm things
DISLIKES
- Dishonesty and duplicity
- Having her authority undermined
- Loneliness. She’s terrified of ending up alone surrounded by nothing but fake flatterers
HOBBIES AND SKILLS
- For someone who disliked deception, she’s become quite adept at deception herself, always managing to keep a smiley, friendly attitude no matter how much she dislikes the person she’s talking to. She’s learn to find out how she should behave with each person to have them lower their guard around her, and to make them believe she absolutely likes them. She’s of the philosophy “do unto others before they do unto you”...
- Demons, ladies included, are usually big and burly, with pretty decent fighting skills. And while Sairi, as a matriarch, isn’t supposed to grow burly, she is still pretty much skilled in combat. She relies mostly on speed and on cunning to defeat her opponents, and she can actually be quite lethal.
- Also, while most demons choose not to develop their natural magical skills beyond that for domestic comfort use (due to some cultural beliefs), she has delved more deeply into the magical arts than most of her peers. She tries not to show off this knowledge, however.
- She enjoys haute couture a lot, and has a decent collection of outfits from all over the worlds. She’s very intrigued in human fashion, and intends to make the most out of her trip to Gea and catch a glimpse of as many outfits as she can.
