Being a teacher, Theta spends most of her time at the school teaching or at home marking tests and homework. She loves her job and never regrets any of the time she spends on it. When she isn't in the classroom, she's often planning her lessons or tutoring some of her struggling students - never at her own home and rarely at their own - as a result she spends a lot of her time at the local library.

What little time she doesn't spend focused on her job, she spends one of two ways. She often makes trips to the slums with a bag full of healing potions to give out, free of charge, to those struggling in the slums. She will often bring other supplies with her like food and books. At night however, Theta takes on a very different form.

Theta - as far as she knows - was born on the streets and abandoned there. For the first few years, she lived alone on the streets, braving the cold and hunger alone. Until one day she met another young Kamishiba on the streets. Despite being a few years older than Theta, the young Kamishiba took her under her wing, quickly gaining the title of 'Big Sister' from Theta. The streets got tougher but life wasn't so bad with her sister by her side. Gangs and bandits tormented them almost every day, stealing what little food or wing coins they'd managed to gather that day. It was only a matter of time before that all came to an explosive conclusion.

A gang cornered them one day in an alley, demanding they handed over everything they had. But they had not been successful that day and had nothing to hand over. The gang attacked them. Her sister took most of the blows they dealt, crying in pain until her leg broke. Theta, unable to just sit by and let these thugs attack her sister, tried to fight back. But she was too weak and was simply pushed back. Something inside her, something that had been building and growing for years, finally burst outwards, tired of the injustice they faced day in day out. Theta's body changed, her pelt grew darker, wings corrupting and fire erupting from her tail. The sudden change and her new appearance caused most of the gang members to turn tail and run, shouting something about 'green fire demons'. Those that didn't run were at the mercy of her rage. She set upon the attackers without mercy, beating them within an inch of her life. When she was done, she turned to her sister. She expected relief, crying or anything but what she got. Her sister trembled with fear, shaking her head the whole time. "I don't know who you are," she had said "But you are not my sister! Get away from me!"

Confused, distressed, and now, alone, Theta fled into the night. She found herself unable to change back to the body she was used to. She wandered the city, stuck in the form of a 'demon'. Everyone fled from her, terrified by her appearance. It left her lonelier than she had ever been before. She started wandering around only at night. She found a use for her horrific appearance; scaring off the gangs. Multiple times just appearing scared the criminals away from their victims, other times she used her newfound strength to fight then off - never taking it as far as she did the first time. No one ever thanked her, always running away in terror. But with time she got used to it and with her new purpose, she found herself able to return to her normal form.

She turned her life around. She got herself a job as a teacher at the local school - lying through her teeth about her background and living situation until she was able to buy her own home. At night she would return to the horrifying form of 'the green fire demon' and patrol the streets, protecting others from attackers and criminals.
