Appearance

Yukio has messy blond hair parted from the right, and blue eyes. He also has a small ahoge on the right side of his hair.

At school, he wears a light purple hoodie over a blue cardigan and white shoes. In summer, he wears a light green zip-on hoodie over the regular uniform. Like Rin and her ribbons, he always wears hoodies and is never seen without one.

Personality

Yukio is, in one word, depressed. He's almost always seen sulking and slouching. Due to being orphaned at a young age with no one wanting anything to do with him, he suffers from self-esteem issues and insecurity, and doesn't believe that he deserves anything. He has zero social skills and does not sugarcoat anything he says, which makes him come off as blunt and rude. He's also rather morbid at times and used to joke about dying before stopping because of Rin.

Yukio is initially hostile of and guarded against others at first, but once he starts to feel comfortable with someone he gets very jealous and possessive over them. He has a soft spot for cats in particular and would quite literally die for them. Because of his kuudere attitude, he's often noted to be like a cat himself.

Relationships

Rin Matsumoto  [ Classmate ]

They first met when their homeroom teacher assigned Rin to look for Yukio. Yukio found Rin noisy and a bother at first, not understanding why she would bother looking after him. Soon though, he grows extremely dependent on her, and enjoys being spoiled by her. Because Rin needs him as well, the two have developed an extreme codependent relationship at first. He often feels insecure that he's not worthy for her, but he always does his best to perceive her emotions and make her happy.

Ayase Sato  [ Acquaintance (?) ]

Ever since he snubbed her when she first tried to befriend him, the two have hated each other. They bicker a lot and never miss an opportunity to take jabs at the other when they're in the same room. Yukio, for his part, dislikes her facade and how she tries too hard to get along with everyone. Despite, or perhaps because of their mutual dislike, they can read each other pretty well.

Mamoru Uehara  [ Classmate ]

He met Mamoru at around the same time as he got to know Ayase, but got along with him faster than he ever did with the latter. The two are rather reserved people, but they get along pretty well and enjoy playing games together. Sometimes they also run into each other when buying from convenience stores.
