Jamia's devotion to the law and holding herself and others to the letter of it has left her with few friends and many detractors. She operates on the assumption that laws were made by elite groups of people and have lasted so long tha assuming one's own thoughts or morality could be correct would be idiotically arrogant. Because of this single-minded obsession, those she travels with often have to go to great lengths to avoid her omnipresent gaze if they want to get anything done.

Her family has a history in the legal sector; her grandfather was a well-respected judge, her parents work in the justice system, and her older brother Deylin is an established lawyer. She worked as a law clerk and an acolyte at the temple of Forseti, the patron god of the courts, until her paladin coworker Agneta went missing. Determined to recover her friend, she ended up in Barovia.

Jamia's adventures in Borovia resolved with her getting a girlfriend, killing a vampire, and losing her old friend. She got married and lived a full life, but the inevitablities of mixed relationships meant her human wife passed before Jamia had even one gray hair. She left to wander the planes, dealing with her grief by reverting to her harsh judgements. Eventually she ended up an officer in Aegis, an interplanar security agency dedicated to keeping the peace at all costs.
