Profile
Carraigín: (Irish) Chondrus crispus, a species of red algae which grows abundantly along the rocky parts of the Atlantic coast of Europe and North America. Known as Irish moss or carrageen in English.
Personality: Jolly, Goofy, Old-fashioned, Hardworking, Extrovert
Likes: Rocky Seashores, Collecting Seaweed, Cooking, Folk Music and Dance
Dislikes: Doing Things Alone, Pessimism, Being Called Craig
Design Notes:
- Note: Their tail is curled behind them in their ref! It doesn't cut off there -- it continues to taper for a few more segments.
- Short and chunky
- All seaweed on their body is Irish Moss, which means:
- Branches in a symmetrical forked pattern
- A lot of it is bushy/slightly curly
- The shape is variable (some is longer/thinner than others)
- Glowy seaweed patterns along their sides
- Same color as eyes
- Body and tail have blue iridescence
- The palette in their refs section gives an example of how you can stylize it, but you can simplify or adjust it to suit your style as long as it's included in some capacity
- Often wears seaweed harvesting gloves and carries a rusted bucket, especially outdoors
- Plaid hat is encouraged but optional
Character Notes:
- Sweats a colorless gelatinous goo when exposed to heat
- Plays the fiddle (badly)
- Aromantic
