Childhood

  Nyx grew up with her lovely and supporting Grandparents. Ever since she could remember they were by her side, cheering her on whenever she was sad or lonely, or even something as simple as making lunch with her. Of course, she didn't know she should have been grateful, but she was always on her tippy top behavior.

  Growing up Nyx stood out like a sore thumb, she wasn't petite or soft spoken. She was tall, overweight, and boyish. This, of course, wasn't a concern to her grandparents cause well…. She was a little kid! Of course at her age, no one made fun of her nor called her out but they soon would. She would grow into her body and looks all too soon.

   Nyx often played outside with her grandparents dog “Sprinkles” and loved toying with the innocent jet black ants that scurried across the hot pavement. She was never afraid of the things that would normally terrify a young girl such as herself, but that didn't get in the way of her fun.

   She always was a tough cookie, whenever she would fall she would get right back up and continue chasing that noisy grasshopper, not even bothering to dust off her scraped knees. Of course, her Grandparents would always scold her for not asking them to clean it off sooner, but they really always meant the best. Nyx would always pout and nod, but never really listen.

Middle School

 Middle School was really where everything went downhill. Most of Nyx’s friends moved away or was put into a different class. This obviously discouraged her but she still tried to make do. That is until her friends started to ignore her. Baffled and sad she still put all of her efforts into either making new friends or trying to squeeze her way back into her old group. But alas, she efforts were fruitless. The short and innocent kindergarten kids had turned into slim and ruthless middle schoolers. They judged everyone for any and everything. Sadly, no one wanted to play with a chubby, tall, and boyish girl who had no REAL parents. That isn't to say she stopped trying though.

    Nyx instead worked on her grades, as they had slipped while she wasn't paying attention. She put all of her time into studying to make her Grandparents proud. That is until she discovered dancing. Of course, she knew what it was, but she didn't know how FUN it could be, how LIBERATING it was to move around. So she managed her time between studying and dancing, making sure not to spend too much energy into something that couldn't push her into the world as much as good grades could.

High School

 High School was really a blast for Nyx. She had shed her baby fat, found her self-confidence, and had a big, but manageable group of supportive friends. Her features had matured and she became more feminine, it was as if she blossomed like a flower in May. She, of course, used this to her advantage and focused more on her dancing, I mean she wouldn't have to worry about her friends leaving her if she was pretty right? Of course, her thinking was crude and unjust but she didn't know any better.

   So over the course of high school, she maintained her grades, friends and even her dance style mutated into a more hip-hop feel. She learned how to b-boy, pop-n-lock and continued practicing until the day she graduated. Of course, this wasn't the end of Nyx's love of dance, she used the many fine-art colleges in South Korea to her advantage, to which she took her interest to the next level. College.
