Oshua Hassman

Adolescence: Born and raised in lichbarrow, Oshua grew up as a single child. With his dotting parents support Oshua attended may extracurriculars in his youth. From Taekwondo, tutoring, to Guitar lessons Oshua was cultivated to be an educated child of the '70s. It wasn't until late middle school that Oshua excelled in the field of science that his varied extracurricular niched down to academics. The young boy grew up with confidence in his capabilities and his sense of worth strongly depended on his academic progress. This slowly turns into an obsessive spiral to having to be the top of the class, to win first place, to be the best in the county. However, as Oshua worked harder to "be the best" that he soon realized there is always a bigger hurdle. This complex made Oshua an unstable child, reaching highs and dropping to rock bottom when things don't go his way. This filled his life with a sense of anxiety, and he began to mitigate his accomplishments saying "I only won regional, I couldn't win nationals."

Young adult: Oshua Graduated Highschool as salutatorian, having been rejected by his top choice university, Oshua's assured life was now ever so uncertain. Instead, Oshua opted to attend a local college that held a biology major. His ambition and drive hit an all-time low and he soon wondered why to stress for academic prowess when he couldn't achieve anything with it. With this nihilistic mindset that Oshua spent more time parting on campus then studying. Consequently, Oshua's GPA dropped, he lost his qualifications for his scholarship, and couldn't fund the cost. The call he had to make to his parents was his wake up call. It was his parent's disappointment that Oshua decided to clean up his act. After 5 years he graduated college and interned at a global sourcing organization. Oshua began to feel more like himself working in the field, however, he soon found himself at a stop-gap. He landed an internship but career choices for biology majors were limited. Most occupations in his field are volunteered based, unsubstantial, or (as much as he would never admit it.) outside of his skill level. When he confided his parents with his dilemma that he was the most surprised when his father gave him a phone number to the local mailing office. His old friend worked in the business and knew that he would hire his son on the spot. Oshua knew what he meant when he saw the crumpled paper; It was a soft dejection but reality hit Oshua hard.

Current: Working for over 10 years in the postal business has made Oshua the man he is today. When not running through the town you'll find Oshua drinking his sorrows away at the bar, wondering what went wrong in his life.
