Personality

Brian comes off as a tough guy, and he is--under certain circumstances. He believes in a "work hard, play hard" philosophy, and is always "on," whether he's interacting with patients at the hospital where he works or with fans at a music venue. Brian's trouble is that he worries--about his patients, about his family back home, about bills--and this can lead him to act in a curmudgeonly or snappish manner. However, when Brian is relaxed and in his element, he's caring, mischievous, and wants everyone to join in on his fun. History

Brian grew up in County Longford, Ireland, but dreamed of making it to the US to find fame and fortune in the music industry from a young age. Still, he approached his dream with a grain of salt, and attended nursing school in order to ensure that he had a backup plan. Settling in Boston, Brian set about forming a rock band, which he named The Screaming Banshees. Having found and befriended a bassist, lead singer, and drummer, Brian launched the band with a decent degree of success. Brian hopes that someday the band will "make it really big" and become his full-time career.

Relationships

Julian

Julian, The Screaming Banshees' bassist, was the first friend that Brian made in Boston--Brian ended up in Julian's bar one night, the pair started talking, and an alliance was born. Brian considers Julian to be his closest confidante, and Julian is one of the few people who Brian truly trusts. Julian appears intimidating, but is a softie at heart. His laid-back nature helps Brian to relax and thus to show his better side.

Ricardo

Ricardo met Brian when they were seated next to one another at a local concert--Ricardo, ever the talkative one, charmed Brian into hiring him as the lead singer for the band. Brian found Ricardo to be abrasive at first, but eventually became endeared to his loudmouthed bonhomie. Ricardo is a goofball, and his energy is a lot at times, but he truly means well. Brian does his best to temper Ricardo's enthusiasm when needed, and Ricardo helps Brian to lighten up.

Sadie

Sadie is the drummer for The Screaming Banshees, and Brian met her when he became a regular at the diner where she works. On the outside, Sadie is guarded, cynical, and rough around the edges, but is a bit childlike once one gets to know her better. Sadie was suspicious of Brian's offer of band membership at first, but eventually relented. She and Brian are both grateful that she did--Brian now serves as a protector and big brother figure for Sadie, and Sadie is Brian's biggest cheerleader.

Angelica

Angelica is the band's manager, who Julian discovered. Brian generally trusts Julian's judgment, but remains unhappy with his decision to hire Angelica. Angelica is pushy, opinionated, and blunt--qualities that Brian sees reflected in himself and that he does not always like. The pair frequently clash, but Brian allows her to remain with the band, if only to please Julian.
