Joie is the current president of Hermes and a descendant of the real Reid Armiger. Joie was practically raised by the Reid AI as her parents were assassinated when she was fairly young. They got along for a while until she grew up and started to resent how annoying his pre-programmed personality was. She is embittered by this because this AI is all she has left to connect to her family line.

Joie wants to implement some basic version of Reid's AI into all of Hermes' commercial vessels in order to bring this popular character to an audience that can only view his AI from afar. She has gained respect from her investors for inventive ideas like this and won't let anyone ruin them. Not even Reid.
