Montevic was raised by their fathers, two wealthy Seajewel merchants who had high expectations for their son. But Montevic couldn't take the pressure - as soon as they were an adult, they fled home. Eventually they ended up in Rumba Sumba, where they met Norvan, who was looking to start his ghost hunting show. The two hit it off, and they've been working together ever since.

Last year, Norvan and Montevic took part in the hunt of infamous ex-guild leader Marsa Kul. Norvan was the one spurring them on - Montevic was mostly along for the ride. Though the pair's intentions were nonviolent, Marsa engaged them in combat, nearly strangling Norvan to death in the process. In a moment of desperation, Montevic fused with one of the Ancient AIs Marsa had taken. In the aftermath, the entity remained dormant for several months, only to reawaken in a time of crisis. The two have been stuck together ever since.

Montevic was with Norvan in Hanto Magnata for the infamous tech fair where a new feat of Tonpelli medical technology was revealed. As such, they were trapped in the city when it began to burn. Montevic was separated from Norvan and fled into the countryside, but when they returned to Hanto Magnata to search for Norvan, they were quickly captured by cyborgs. The possessed tech-touched attempted to make Montevic into one of them, replacing their right arm with a prosthetic that had the normal amount of digits, but before Montevic could be integrated into the hive mind, their own shadow demon made use of the new circuitry in its hosts brain and took control, walking Montevic's body out of the city and into the countryside. There, Montevic survived for two months until Norvan found them. Once reunited, the pair traveled to the free tech-touched settlement in the mangrove forests of Tonpelli and stayed there until they could return to the mainland.

On their journey back to the mainland, Norvan and Montevic visited the Spitfire Carnival. There, Montevic confessed their attraction to Norvan, and the two officially reclassified their relationship from "work partners" to "romantic partners". They reached Paydo Moga and decided to stay there for a while, setting up in a proper recording studio and sticking to discussing supernatural stories rather than mucking about in ancient ruins, though they still make the odd house call. Time will tell whether the universe has finished traumatizing them.
