Dulce

Since the day they were born Dulce has been a source of joy and celebration. Those who were present for his birth swear that he came into this world glowing with a soft pink light. He somehow gave those present some sort of cosmic reassurance that everything would be alright. It was this auspicious birth that set the trajectory for the rest of their life.

Dulce grew up in a huge family within the hive. He was raised in a massive household that contained three generations of his kin. Needless to say Dulce grew up surrounded by love and support. While his family never played favorites there was always something special about him that stood out. Even in adolescence when they started displaying more effeminate behaviors it was considered a blessing. Truly his family saw him as a gift from the divine no matter what, which at the time was extremely uncommon in the hive. Their confidence can be attributed to the nurturing environment they were fortunate enough to grow up in.

Dulce’s family was known throughout the grand hive as the best bakers in the entire city state. Everyone in his family from his tios to his abuelas worked with baked goods in some form or fashion. However a majority of the family worked in their central panaderia Sweet Heaven. Dulce grew up thinking of his family’s shop as a magical wonderland where dreams came true and joy was spread.

Around adolescence Dulce started to take a real interest in his family’s trade, and began to work in the kitchens.To say he was a natural would be a huge understatement. They took to the craft as quickly as a fish to water. It was almost as if Dulce could commune with the sugar and baked pastries; pouring a little bit of himself into each one he made. His family knew he was special but they had no clue how special he really was.

On his thirteenth birthday Dulce’s life changed forever. As is their way, on their own birthday, they were in the kitchen with the rest of the family preparing the food for the festivities. He was messing around that day, and made some conchas with cute turtle designs; he just wanted to add a bit of cuteness to them. To everyone’s shock when the goods came out of the oven they began flying in the air spreading a joyful atmosphere and looping around Dulce. Dulce was a brujx someone who was born with a special connection to a primal elemental force and has magical abilities. Just like on his birthday Dulce glowed a faint pink glow and the glyph of an unknown element appeared above his head. He was a chosen one with a special destiny to bring a new type of energy to his world.

Now as an adult Dulce still works at Sweet Heaven, and shows off his magic daily. Instead of hiding their gift like some brujx do Dulce believes their gift must be shared. They named their element “sugar” and have been cataloging it’s properties and applications since that fateful day. Whether it’s joy, love, sex, or pleasure Dulce wants to live his life sharing the joy that life can bring with others. His core principle is “DELIGHT” and with it he spreads love and hope throughout the entirety of the hive.
