Pepper is a big, loud ball of energy. She won't back down from a challenge if she knows she can take it, but isn't dumb enough to throw herself into danger without any thought or reasoning. She'll tell you exactly what she thinks of you, tends to randomly speak whats on her mind, and has little regard for situational grace or social norms. Still a teenager at heart, Pepper takes great pleasure in being a pain in the ass. If she can tell she's getting on someone's nerves, she's likely to keep pushing it, cackling away to herself afterwards. She can be a bit of a jerk, and when it gets down to it she's more here for herself than others. A fun friend, but not one that'll throw down everything for you.

Story
Childhood
Pepper was the third child of a particularly poor woman, born deep into the slums of Tanim where the buildings were cramped and the people were starving. Her older brother, already in his late teens, took over raising pepper from the start, with their mother out trying to earn enough to feed her family most hours of the day. That was, however, until one day when their mother simply... Didn't come home. There was no word of her fate, no visit from the police, but pepper's older siblings were determined to not be split up, already experienced in self-care with their mother being so absent in the first place. They raised pepper themselves, taking turns working odd jobs, busking and begging on the streets and receiving the gracious help of the rest of the slums community that took pity on these lost children. Life was hard, and as time went on they found themselves moving around constantly, squatting in unoccupied buildings or striking up agreements to house-share with other families in the area. Pepper never went to school, unable to afford the travel, but she learned what she could from her siblings and environment.
Training
It was around that time that she encountered her mentor. She was playing football in the streets of a richer part of the city when the ball went high over a fence, smashing a window. Pepper tried to hop the fence to fetch it, not realising that the owner of the house was right there in the garden, watering his flowers. Annoyed yet impressed by her physical ability, he offered to let her pay for the broken window by helping around the house with housework tasks his ageing body couldn't manage anymore. As time went on, he became almost like a surrogate grandparent to pepper, and she learned that he was a retired security manager at Dulcet Laeta. She came to admire the stories about the place, and demanded to be trained, spending the next five years learning various martial arts and preparing for her dream job.
The Factory
After a letter of recommendation and an interview, she was accepted, full of enthusiasm and a goal of meeting the heights that her mentor did. She arrived in the sector with little to her name, moving both herself and her older siblings into their first decent home in her entire life. Pepper went about her time at the Factory as an enthusiastic, model citizen, ignoring rising tensions and the threat of the rebellion in favor of her own ambitions.
