Kyra's my awesome bestie! She's so creative and fun to be around! Kyra's the kind of friend you can rely on to keep your secrets and not afraid to say what she thinks. I may have gotten into some drama in the past, but Kyra's always there to keep me sane. ;)
I didn't think I'd be friends with someone like Zani. She's strong-willed and passionate which is something I try to be for myself. While I'm the one who keeps her in line due to her quick short temper, I do find fulfillment in knowing I'm helping a friend. Zani's the kind of girl who will stick by your side no matter what. Plus, all the shopping sprees - Zani is one hella smart shopper despite her extravagant tastes. :)
Having a big brother is both exciting and challenging, especially if it's Sunny we're talking about! There's never a boring moment with him. Growing up was...interesting, for the most part. He's something of a clown - you know, being the silly but bright one, but as for me I had my own goals to accomplish. He can be overbearing at times but what big brother isn't, y'know? I'd probably go insane if I didn't have a sibling to talk with - ha ha!
My baby sister!! As her one and only big brother, I've experienced Zani's growth from this sassy child into a beautiful, sophisticated woman. She's strong-willed and passionate that sometimes it's hard to keep up. I know she wants to make a big name for herself...I just hope she doesn't forget herself along the way.
While I was quite popular back in high school, it wasn’t all that was cracked up to be. I was surprised that Cat understood most of the dilemmas of being popular despite being the quiet one in class. She cast her judgements aside just to connect with me, and not a lot of my popular friends were like that - save maybe a few. I had a hunch Cat thought I was shallow and petty given my reputation back then, but that’s what drove me to go the extra mile in this relationship. I’m willing to stand up for her when necessary. I’m happy I can consider Cat my friend, and hopefully one of these days I can call her my sister-in-law! 😉
My first impression of Zani back in high school was this beautiful yet intimidating popular rich girl, which can be off-putting in and of itself for those who didn't grow up in the laps of luxury. However, Zani surely surprised me. She wasn't as shallow as I made her out to be. Zani's the type of person who's open to try anything. She makes an effort to really connect with others, which I find admirable. She has a strong presence that can easily light up a room, and just being around her is empowering. Did I mention this is Sunny’s sister? I'm honored to call her my friend.
Rochelle is a cutie and an amazing artist! I've seen her stuff and I would honestly translate her art into an original design in a heartbeat! Think about the profits we could rake in!!
Sorry; got a little excited there. Anyway, who can't resist having someone so cute and creative like Rochelle in their lives? I feel incredibly blessed to know her and call her one of my best friends!
Zani is incredibly beautiful, that's for sure. She's also an extremely talented fashion designer. She has this crazy idea that she can sell my artwork into clothing...that's not a bad idea, now that I think about it.
Zani is the life of the party and she can light up a room from miles away. It's impossible for me to be unhappy around Zani, and I try my best to be there for her whenever she needs someone.
Who would’ve thought that Kyra had a brother, let alone an extremely hot one - like, girl?! Why do you hold out on me?!
Anyway, Marco and I haven’t really spoken much in the beginning, but I try my best to at least take initiative. Much to my surprise, Marco is quite fascinating given how intelligent he is, and I didn’t think I would click with a guy like that! I mean; Marco is lightyears ahead of me in the intelligence department, excelling in academics and whatnot, and as someone of average intelligence… I’ll admit it’s intimidating, but that’s the sort of thing that has driven me to do my best in many areas of expertise - all of which I set my mind and heart on. If I ever needed help, then he’d be the one I’d go to; if he didn’t know the answer, then he’d look for it in a heartbeat (figuratively speaking, of course, but he wouldn’t rest until he finds it). If I’m being honest, I’m probably dealing with a genius here. I’ve been singing many praises over his intelligence, haven’t I?
Well, that’s only Marco during the day, but once he’s off the clock…*giggles* he becomes the embodiment of every hero of every romance novel I’ve ever read - move over, Fabio! In this house, we stan Marco!
He’s a man after my own heart when it comes to dancing. Like, seriously! It’s like he’s an entirely different person when he dances, and I LOVE IT! 😍 Not only does he steal my heart through dance, but he has a refined taste for many other things like art and food…just to name a few. Oh, I forgot to mention he’s quite the thespian! I’ve seen him in our high school production of Newsies and he killed it!
Then, the cycle begins anew. Marco, the unassuming genius by day. Marco, the heart-throbbing Casanova by night. To think they’d exist in the same mind and body… but, hey; it’s what keeps me on my toes and I love the thrill of the intrigue. ❤️
Quick story time before I go any further: My sister brought home a friend from school one day, and I immediately ran back to my room in fear that my nerdy-looking face would scare her off. The friend in question was, of course, Zani. I also knew that my friend, Sunny, had a sister but he failed to mention how beautiful she was! It was like having Princess Jasmine herself in my own home (oh, how this brings me back to that painfully awkward time where I met Princess Jasmine at Disneyland when I was 5 and I got way over my head thinking I was better for her than Aladdin - hey, cut my childhood self a break here; he didn’t know any better! Crushes over fictional characters at that tender age were…whimsical, to say the least.)
I was so enamored by Zani’s beauty at first, I’ll admit. However, I didn’t want to act on these feelings due to the outdated notion I held at the time: she probably cared more about her appearance than her education. Of course, first impressions are not always correct. Zani’s beauty was deeper than what was on the surface. As Aristotle puts it, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”
The plot thickens: I also helped tutor Zani back in high school, which is why Kyra brought her over often. Her worst subject was science which is where I excelled; so, it made sense. Much to my surprise, Zani was a fervent student with one heck of a drive. In return for my academic services, Zani offered me one of her signature makeovers. Now, before you judge me on this: let me remind you that when I was in high school I wore my hair tied into a ponytail, had pimples almost everywhere, and had these ridiculous prescription glasses that even Steve Urkel from Family Matters might have worn. Let’s just say after that makeover, I’m glad I got rid of those glasses, changed my wardrobe completely, and I learned the importance of skin care (I had really bad cystic acne at the time, mostly due to stress).
I’m usually not comfortable being the center of attention, for one thing; I was super awkward. However, I did teach myself how to dance and sing in secret. I mostly did this for Zani, but I like learning new things for my own personal growth. There was a production of Newsies that I secretly auditioned for and I ended up getting the lead. That alone gave me a new appreciation for theatre, as well as confidence in myself. Zani’s influence had a positive impact on me moving forward, and I think some of her charisma rubbed on to me.
Up to today, I don’t think I would be who I am if it weren’t for Zani. She’s helped me see the world through new lenses (and I’m not talking about contacts, although they do help with my astigmatism).
Gen is like the 'cool mom' of the group, at least in my opinion. We can sit and talk over a glass of wine or rosé for hours - be it at a bar, café, at a club, or at home. I also love her fashion sense; she can find the cutest clothes at a modest price, although I have seen her splurge on a few fancy items before - hey, she deserves it after working hard taking care of others! She's a nurse, so I typically see her come home in her scrubs, which are also cute!
Zani is the bold fashionista of the group. Her hair and outfits are always coordinated down to a T! As a fashion designer, Zani has an eye for what pieces of clothing compliment each other and create full outfits for any occasion. She's my shopping buddy as well as my gal pal who I can share a drink with - be it wine, rosé, coffee, tea, or even just a glass of water!
As Cat's best friend, Shea knows more than I can possibly say about her. Shea can be social given the right environment, but I think she can learn to loosen up a little and have fun in the moment. I see that side of her when she's around Cat; I just hope I can have something with Shea myself - I have figure out what that is first.
I'll be the first to admit that I'm not one who lives for the spotlight like Zani does. I'll also admit she can be so caught up in materialistic and trivial things at times, but that won't stop me from being her friend. She's much smarter than I give her credit for, and her loyalty is beyond limit. We may not agree with a whole lot, but I accept her for who she is regardless. We don't spend a whole lot of time together given our busy schedules, but she's good company. She has a killer fashion sense from what I've seen; a bit expensive but still very pretty.
