I also share the same sentiments about Marco here. I was a transfer student when I met Marco, who always excelled in academics. I was no slouch in the classroom, either. I really needed a challenge, and Marco looked like a worthy candidate. We really brought excitement into the classroom, though we can get a little carried away with it. Marco’s sister and her friend suggested we take up fencing as a healthy outlet for our rivalry, and I felt alive when wielding a rapier or a sabre. I am grateful for the synergy that I share with Marco, though he doesn’t know this.
Antonio is my academic rival through and through. We met around sophomore year in high school, yet we both fought for the valedictorian spot for our graduating class. We were also part of the speech & debate team, which meant that meetings and competitions were never a dull moment. I’ve never been so driven and challenged after meeting Antonio…like something just ignited me to action. I did have some help settling my differences with him thanks to Cat and my sister. They both suggested we take up fencing, and well…we both ended up really enjoyed it a little more than we like to admit.
As much as I hate to admit, I am grateful for Antonio’s charisma and drive. He helped me improve myself to greater heights.
My rival’s sister seems to be in her own world at times. She and Cat have helped me settle my differences with Marco in the past. I don’t really see Kyra much considering my history with her brother. However, there’s never a dull moment when we do get together.
Ah, yes. My brother’s friendly rival. I, along with Cat, helped Antonio and Marco get along…even if it doesn’t last longer than 30 seconds. Antonio is actually more debonair than he actually lets on. He only acts formal as to not “scare the locals”, as he puts it. I honestly get a kick out of his fencing with my brother. I don’t know what goes on in Antonio’s head sometimes, but it’s always something…interesting.
I’ve never expected someone like Cat to come into my life. True, I can be standoffish, but that didn’t seem to phase her. Anyway; despite her modest and quiet personality, she’s quite caring and compassionate. She helped me settle a score I didn’t think was possible, which was no easy feat. If it weren’t for her, I’d wouldn’t be able to live with myself - by that, I mean things could’ve been worse if I left my internal affairs unaddressed. Nowadays, I try my best to keep a pleasant face around her; otherwise, she’d find out.
How can anyone resist such talent and grace? Cat is truly a remarkable being.
Hmm...Antonio is a little tricky to pin down in context of what I think about him. He came across as somewhat arrogant before, but he continues to intrigue me to this day. Whenever I watched him and Marco butt heads, I knew they had something the other could benefit from which is where I quietly stepped in. It wasn’t easy for them to become friends given my only asset is my demure innocence, but at least I can feel a little happy that I helped them get along in the end. Although, Antonio and Marco still have one of the most endearing friendly rivalries - sometimes it’s fun to watch them go at it in a healthy way, especially when they fence like dashing musketeers.
Antonio tends to be formal with me, but nevertheless he’s reliable and honest. Just being around him personally makes me feel like I’ve gone back in time - almost like the regency or gothic Victorian era. If anything, Antonio is perhaps the most cunning person I’ve met; there’s always something brewing inside him at all times and thinking on the fly comes naturally to him.
I may not fully understand Antonio, but I can honestly say there’s never a dull moment with him. In truth, I wish I could find more ways to bond with Antonio just so he can express himself more and I can easily understand him as a friend.
