Maple was from the Greenpath/Fungal Wastes border where Osian (more on him later) found them! Maple was very hostile at first, as they were constantly defending themselves from mantises, and didn’t quite know if Osian was a friend or not. but Osian is quite determined, and could tell that Maple was just scared, and with his determination, patience, and gifts of food, he eventually won them over and brought them up to Dirtmouth. Maple works there in Osian’s tavern and inn, doing what little odd jobs the bee can’t do if he’s busy, or dealing with rowdy customers who can’t obey the rules. with Maple one has to earn their trust first, and when they do Maple is a strong reliable friend, sympathy is an odd thing for them but they’re starting to get used to it, but if that trust is broken, you better hope Osian better hold them back because their pin-like nail is lethal.
