About

Your name is Samael, and you are the Giratina of the world. As the first child of Arceus (Arcanus) and Mew (Eden), the other Gods carry some form of fear of you. It certainly doesn't help that you were once a violent man in your youth. In your defense, teenage hormones in Gods are often such a nasty thing. Regardless, you have changed from how you used to act. It wasn't like you had a choice. After one of your fits that nearly killed your siblings, Arcanus banished you to the Distortion World. "When you learn to control your temper, I will allow you to roam free in the mortal realm" are his words to you. You weren't happy about it, but what else can you do? Even Eden thought that this was a good decision. No used in disagreeing with them. The last thing you need is dealing with the 1000 arms of Arcanus and Eden's transformation ability.

You have a thrall. His name is Katsu Saito, and you are fond of him. You marked him as your thrall eleven (probably more depending on the timeline) years ago after witnessing what he did to try to save your siblings from the humans. You honestly did it because you wanted to see more of the world through his eyes (since you didn't get your permission to roam the world yet), and you thought having a thrall was pretty damn cool. You could have avoided traumatizing him, but you're not exactly a people person. On the bright side, you appear to be on good terms with him! Then again, that could be because he has gotten used to your nonsense.

Height:

6'6" (198.12 cm)

Weight:
206.8 lbs (93.8 kg)

Appearance:

Samael takes the appearance of a handsome, adult man. He has pale skin with a muscular built. To the mortal eye, he can be described as a model with how tidy and elegant he looks. While he may look flawless, he does have a scar along on his back. The scar itself is composed of three distinct lines that resemble claw marks. He's not a fan of anyone looking at it. His golden hair reached down to the middle of his neck with the bangs occasionally covering his left eye. Matching the color of his hair is a nicely trimmed goatee. His eyes are bright orange, though they appear golden to some individuals. His ears are pointed and almost elf-like in appearance.

Samael is primarily seen in a black, double-breasted suit with golden buttons with a black (or striped tie) and a long-sleeved buttoned shirt that is often red. Completing the outfit are black dress shoes. On the back of his shirt, a golden star-like symbol adores the back of it.

Notes:
  • Samael is rarely seen in anything other than his suit. He cites that he's more comfortable wearing more formal clothes than anything casual.
    • Occasionally, this leads to him bickering with Katsu over the clothes he choose to wear as he's not a fan of his thrall's choice of outfit.
  • Samael occasionally pins his hair in a small bun whenever it comes a bit of a hassle.
  • Whenever he steps out into the normal world, a golden crown appears on his head. This is a reference to the crest that takes up a good chunk of his head in his Pokemon form.
    • Interestingly enough, this same crown is tattooed on his back in a similar fashion as Katsu.
  • The whites on his eyes become black whenever he's angry or emotionally distress in some way.
  • Samael's wings (something he is able to make appear and disappear on command) can change shape due to the nature of what they are. As such, he tends to have them to take the form of fathered wings.
  • Samael has sharp canines that aren't too noticable unless you catch him smiling or in the middle of opening his mouth. He won't use them unless you really tick him off.
  • The scar found on Samael's back came from a battle he had with his brother (Dialga). It seemed like the dragon managed to leave the nasty thing on him from one of his attacks.
  • Samael is rarely the type that is willing to grow a beard. He believes having a fullblown beard is a lot of unneccesary work to take care of.

Personality

Traits

  • Snarky
  • Charming
  • Curious
  • Realstic

Likes

  • Tea. Nothing like enjoying a nice cup of tea after a long day of bothering your thrall.
  • Ghosts. What did you expect from someone who is pretty much Death?
  • Reading. It's a nice thing to do when you're stuck in the Disortion World for being a brat.
  • Cinnamon rolls. Samael will appreciate one thing about humans: their creation of cinnamon rolls has really brought him joy.

Dislikes

  • Arcanus. He doesn't hate his father. He just wishes he wasn't so much of dad at times.
  • Fairy types. He never like those darn things. Amusing, considering he has a thing for Orin.
  • Siblings. Needless to say, he always bumps head with his younger siblings espesically Izanagi (Dialga).
  • Humans. There are times where he wished humans didn't exist. I mean they nearly destroyed the world several times.

"I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago."-Edgar Allan Poe

Saying Samael is a hopeful guy would be saying that dragon types are stronger than fairy types. Samael sees life as a game. His goal is not to win it. After all, life is an aspect you can't win. For Samael, his goal is to try to understand and prod it to see what happens. Of course, he's careful to avoid taking it too far. The last thing he needs is to deal with his parents punishing for doing his deeds, especially when it comes to humans. Samael sees humans as pests that like to interfere with Gods' duties. For that reasoning (and several others), he looks at the world from a realistic (and sometimes pessimistic) perspective. He sees humans as a species willing to do whatever it takes to get to the top. They're flail to the point that they rely on Pokemon and whatnot to live. Despite this, humankind has always been something that grabbed his curiosity. Their ability to advance in ways the Gods never expected is something that Samael admires and strives to understand more about. Samael may see humans as the scum of the Earth, but he applauds their creativity.

Despite this, Samael is the embodiment of a gentleman. Most often see Samael as a charismatic, witty man that knows how to bring a smile to your face (or make you blush through flirty, playful banter). For Samael, this temperament allows for others to trust him. After all, his temper always pushed others away. While he wasn't too bothered by this, it wasn't going to help him whenever he wanted to seek knowledge about something he wasn't aware of. After all, who would want to talk to a bad-tempered dragon? As such, he plays the role of a charming man you can trust with your secrets and heart. Once you get to know him, you'll find that he is a snarky individual that strives off of dark humor. His sharp tongue is capable of firing nasty insults at those he dislikes under clever wordplay and delivering brutally honest comments. Despite his snarky, realistic attitude, Samael has a heart when it comes to those he cares about. If anyone he sees as a family is in damage, he is quick to protect them through whatever means necessary.

Fighting Style

Samael is not the fastest guy in the world. It's something that doesn't bother him as his fighting style is centered towards him being a wall breaker and a wall. As a wall, Samael relies on his Altered Forme to become a defensive tank. By default, this is the form he tends to take during battles due to his ability to take hits. Combined with his health, this makes the male harder to bring down. As the wall breaker, Samael relies on his Origin Forme to become an offensive tank. Getting hit by this form is not fun. After all, his strength can rival Orin's Hero of Battles. He carries around his Griseous Orb whenever he needs to take this form outside of his realm.

Disortion Manipulation

Being Giratina, Samael can twist and distort almost anything for both offensive and defensive purposes. Despite being his main power, it is something he rarely uses. At best, he relies on the power to forcefully shift his existence from his world to another dimension. His reasoning behind his limitation is due to the fact he sees the ability as a last resort. Distorting reality is something that takes a lot of him, given the nature of it. Shifting reality is a diligent process that requires care and attention to get right. If Samael isn't careful, he could distort reality to the point it can't be fixed.

Death Embodiment

With Samael being the Death of the Gods, the male can perform feats associated with it. His connection to the dead allows him to able to soothe the recent departed and decipher what could lead to their death by talking with them. Once he soothe the soul, he collects the soul so he can properly bring them to the Afterlife (Disortion World). From there, they can decide if they wish to come back as ghost Pokemon or remain there to eventually be reincarnated. His connection to the dead makes him a beacon for ghost-type being attracted to him. Now while he may be Death, Samael can't kill with a simple touch of his hand or manipulate how one dies. After all, that goes against the rules of being Death. In fact, he will interfere with one's death whenever he feels is neccesary or received permission to do some from his parents.

Ghost Physiology

Samael is a ghost type. It's not surprising he has powers associated with ghouls. He is capable of flight without the use of his wings, can make himself intangible for bits at a time, and can make himself inaudible by anybody. One thing that does stand out for Samael is his ability to possess others. While his possession is limited to Katsu and his Pokemon, he can remain unnoticeable by other Pokemon and Gods for some time. This allows him to get some form of freedom from outside his realm by possessing others. All it takes is that person being near something reflective. However, Samael avoids being in one's body for too long. Possession takes a lot of him and the person he's possessing. As such, he limits the time he spends possessing a body to a few minutes.

The Golden Fallen

The first thing that Eden (Mew) and Arcanus (Arceus) crafted in the world was Giratina. The elder Gods wanted their first creation was to be the one who would be the symbol of death as the two were the symbols of life. With his serpentine look and his devil-like appearance, the two Gods gave Giratina the name 'Samael' and taught him what it means to be a God. Samael learned and helped his parents in crafting additional Gods and beings that would reside in this world. While he may have been young, his creativity gave Eden and Arcanus ideas of what they should have. Having siblings was useful especially ones that were tied to space (Palkia) and time (Dialga). Having a land was needed as it was a nice place to rest and build on. Perhaps make a creature that would help expand the land (Groudon).

Samael wasn't exactly the nicest guy in the world. Well..at least he wasn't when he was a teen. It was the consequence of hormones and what not. Eden and Arcanus weren't really aware of such a thing being the case as they grew quickly to the point they were adults in a matter of a day. Samael's hormones lead to the male lashing out at other Gods and mortals. It lead to Gods fearing him (but still somewhat retaining respect for him) and mortals...well dying. It was something that his parents weren't pleased with as his fits did damage the world as his distortion manipulation always reacted with his emotions. Given the nature of distortion, repairing the realm would take time. This lead to Arcanus banishing Samael from the world.

Well, banishing is a harsh thing to say. At least in Eden's eyes. To them, it was more like they sent Samael on a needed vacation to his realm. He wasn't forced to remain there all the time. He could come and go to the meetings the Gods would have or come out for a bit of fresh air. Samael wasn't chained to his realm or mistreated harshly for his attitude. Gods always did their best to visit him whenever they can to provide Samael some form of entertainment. Eden and Arcanus cared deeply for their son. They just worried that he was going to destroy the world at his current state. It's why Arcanus told Samael this when he told him he was going to be taking a 'vacation' in the Distortion Realm.

"When you learn to control your temper, I will allow you to roam free in the mortal realm."

Samael was a bit stubborn about accepting his temper being a issue. In fact, he was offended that his parents would punish him for something that he supposedly lacked. Of course, that stubbornness did wear off after a few decades of reflecting. With the knowledge of how his temper affected others and the fact that this did made things unnecessary harder than it should, Samael decided to change. It wasn't really out of the goodness of his heart. It was mostly because he really wanted his 'vacation' to end quickly. He cleaned up his act and started to work on repairing any relationships he broke. This allowed him to reestablish bonds that would prove to be useful later down the line. However, he would lose interest in becoming a 'good man' for the sake of leaving his home. As tempting as it was, he didn't see a need to go back to the mortal realm when he's already getting info about it from the other Gods. To him, he started to do for the purpose of having his chess pieces ready whenever he felt the need to accomplish something that he couldn't easily accomplish. Oh and cause a bit of discord along the way. He's quite a fan of giving his father a headache with that.

Years would past before a event would occur that would change his life. From the whispers of several Sinnohian Gods, Samael learned of Team Galactic and what they were doing. To say he was pleased by their presence would be a exaggeration. He wished that that the humans would stop attempting to play God and capture said Gods. He did nothing as his father told him not to. At first, he was confused as to why until he noticed a strange human that always seem to get in the way of Galactic plans from some reports he received from his ghost servants observing them. He was a young teen that care deeply for Pokemon. He was similar to the humans that Eden and Eona (Latias) had made their thrall.

This young man...gave him ideas.

When Team Galactic leader (Cyrus) would summon Izanagi (Dialga) and Izanami (Palkia) into the world and attempt to control them through the Red Chains, Arcanus gave Samael the permission to interfere. Samael did listen to his father and rose from his realm on the mountain that he had accepted as his secondary home and where his father rested hidden in a space above, watching events proceed below. With his distortion, he destroyed the chains controlling his siblings and dragged Cyrus into his realm....

...with the young trainer that has been interfering with Galactic plans.

In his realm, Samael allowed his ghouls to take Cyrus away so he can deal with him later on. When he was gone, Samael looked to the trainer in his arms (well streamers?) and spoke to him. He gave the opportunity to allow the male to serve him. Of course, the boy couldn't deny such a opportunity as Samael was set on making him his thrall. He knew his father has his eyes on his boy and wanted to deny him of the opportunity of having him as his servant. The boy accepted and fell asleep as Samael stripped away his strength through his Pressure. Samael pressed a tendril against the boy's back and gave him his mark of servitude. He gave the boy to the woman (Cynthia) that came to save him and said nothing more as she left.

That boy was Katsu Saito.

Samael knew that he scared the boy whenever he came to visit the boy the days that followed. He didn't really care. He finally had a human that wasn't as stupid as the other ones that he can complain to. However, he was still careful with the male. He knew better than to push the boy, and he didn't want to be that much of a dick to him. Sure, he did threaten to him on occasion...but that was only whenever Katsu was being a crybaby! He wasn't a fan of those.

Besides, Katsu would eventually mentally recover (sorta) from what he experience over the years. Sure, he changed, but it was for the best. He came to see the young man as a friend..well maybe not a friend..but still. It was better than nothing. The two would share their own snarky remarks and grow to trust each other. It took Katsu's Pokemon team a while to trust Samael. Granted, he did kinda kidnap Katsu and forced him to serve him..even if serving him was simply Katsu learning more about legends and teaching Samael more about the mortal realm. It has been several years since Samael made Katsu his thrall and Katsu has moved to Galar. Galar isn't a place that Samael is familiar with especially when he hasn't spotted any legend from it. As Katsu goes on a adventure through Galar, there are three things that end up bothering Samael along the way.

Who is that strange dog following him...and why does he seem familiar?

Also.....what is this strange feeling he gets from these Dynamax Pokemon?

The Golden Remembrance

There was a time that Samael fell in love with someone. He often buried the thought deep into his mind as all he recall was pain and heartache from thinking of the details. However, the more he watched Katsu's journey throughout Galar and interacted with this strange dog (Orin), those memories came gradually back before hitting him in full force when Rose would caused the Darkest Day. It was then where everything fell apart...but came together at the same time. He has been to Galar before. It was whenever Arcanus would bring him there to check on the progress of the two wolves he made. There was a creature that fell into this world from space that fed off of diseased Pokemon and studied the Dynamax phenomenon that only one being knew about as a means to protect itself. The humans would later called this creature "Eternatus". Arcanus and Eden created the wolves to eventually try to calm the creature if it would eventually snap. They are familiar of such a thing being common with certain Pokemon. The wolves were called Zacian and Zamazenta. He had interacted with Zacian occasionally and he was quite...puppy-like in terms of his attitude. However, even then, Samael founded it to oddly cute. The more he talked to him, the more he realized he was growing attached to him. He did try to stop the feeling, but he couldn't. He didn't want to fall for him as he saw his lifespan. His lifespan was one of uncertainty...and that was concerning. He didn't want the feeling of losing him if that happened.

Then the pooch had the nerve to promise that he would return when the Darkest Day started.

Samael hated it. Samael hated the lie that Zacian spewed. He knew that he wasn't going to come back when he saw his lifespan had changed to this day. Yet, Samael couldn't help but hold back his tongue and simply agree to it. He didn't believe him. He had every right not to believe him. He knew how it goes. They make these nonsense promises and they never keep them. He wanted to scream at him to stay away. He wanted to tell him that it wasn't worth trying to save Galar...but he couldn't. That would be interfering in his duty...his role as God. So he did nothing as Zacian walked off with his sister. He did nothing as the Darkest Day ended. He did nothing as his mother would bring the comatose bodies of the two wolves to the Slumbering Weald and murmur that there was a chance they probably wouldn't remember who they are. He simply told himself it was worth simply forgetting the wolves, this region and his love for Zacian. However, before he left, he grew some flowers around the wolves. These flowers were Marigolds.

....These are the flowers that helped Orin remember that he was Zacian and remember who Samael was to him.

It was awkward between Samael and Orin. It certainly didn't help that they both recalled their lost memories around the time around Darkest Day. As such, it wasn't until afterwards that they would talk. Despite Orin dislike on Samael forcibly making Katsu's his thrall, he pushed it aside upon noticing how Samael has shown regret of how he had treated Katsu with the male's near death due to taking a Max Flare from Eternatus to the back. It would be through this conversation that Samael admitted his feelings for Orin after much pushing from Jun the Inteleon. Orin happily returned his feelings for the male, having been seeking to confess his feelings for the male when he initially defeated Eternatus. Speaking of Eternatus...somewhere in the span of Isle of Armor....Nathaniel the Eternatus ended up in a relationship with the two. We aren't sure...how it happened...but they seem to care each other.
