Verrier

Verrier is Avaritia's boyfriend.  Cheerful and optimistic, sometimes to a fault, Verrier often helps total strangers out of the kindness of his heart, leading to friendships with the most unlikely of people.

Appearance

Verrier is relatively well built, thanks to a lifetime of doing mainly physical jobs.  His most noticable feature is his singular blue eye, with the other being hidden behind an eyepatch.  His hair is blond, and scruffy.  Usually seen with stubble on his face, and rough-looking clothing due to his poor financial status.

Personality

Verrier is a friendly and open person who will happily try get along with anyone, leading to a variety of unusual and unlikely friendships.  He dislikes conflict and does his best to avoid it.  Heated conflicts are usually one of the few things that make him genuinely angry.  Coming from a poor background, Verrier was taught to value his relationships with people over material possessions and abides by this philosophy even today, going as far to share what little food he has with others he sees as in need.

He lost his left eye to sickness when he was a child and cannot see over long distances because of this.  He is sensitive about his damaged eye and refuses to take off his eyepatch, even with people he knows and trusts.  Somewhat clumsy, Verrier also has an aimlessness about him and does not like talking about his long term plans, preferring to live each day as it comes.  A hard worker, he takes a variety of jobs but will often work for less than honest wages, which can lead to him being exploited.

Trivia

• One of Verrier's passions is history.  Though not well-read, he is quite knowledgeable about local history, which he has learned from listening to the many people he has met on his travels.
• Verrier comes from a large family made up of two mothers and several siblings, who he left behind for work.
• He is very insecure about his left eye, hiding it under his eyepatch all the time.  If in the presence of a stranger, he will constantly check that the eyepatch is still in place.
