Archer Zhu Huang (Biography)

Profile

Archie hated his early life. That was the only way he could describe how he felt because, truth be told, it wasn't a life to aspire to being the second son of crime lord Chee Lun Hong. Archie's early life was a mix of upper class luxury, the likes of which people might only dream of, and a dark and unruly horror of his father and older brother An's making. Following a brief education in English boarding schools Archer returned to Hong Kong to live a life that he was "destined" to. While Archie rarely got involved with that life, both due to his father not trusting him to keep his mouth shut in the event he was arrested and something of his own choice, he was pulled in on occasion. Mostly at the behest of his older brother. A fact that left Archer with many things he regrets doing to this day. While Archer rarely got his own hands dirty he often found himself covering for his older brother. Serving as a 'trustworthy' witness to deter any attempt at an investigation off his brother's trail. Archer regrets his inability to stop An on several occasions including the one that put his life on its current trajectory.

The details Archie remembers with clarity from the amount of times he retold it to INTERPOL agents during their interviews. How his father had a shop that was making knock-off goods that wasn't performing well and hadn't been for awhile and An and him had been sent in to make sure it wouldn't be a problem. Archie remembers the fire that his brother set and the number of people inside. How he couldn't save any of them except for the baby girl of one of the workers his father had brought in and kept working without pay. The next day, with a baby in his protection, he went to the nearest place he could in order to make sure his family paid for this horrific crime done in the name of their bottom line. His conditions were simple. He'd give over information about the seemingly entirety of his father's organization in exchange for safe passage, immunity, a new identity, and to legally adopt the girl in his custody. All of which were granted.

From then on Archie Hong became Archer Zhu Huang and was soon relocated from his home of Hong Kong to California with his daughter Ana. In the days following Archer paid close attention to the news. Listening in on the reports of his brother being arrested, the organization mostly dismantled, and his father no where to be found; a fact that Archer never forgets as he goes about his new day to day life as a professor at a local college. Archer's old life in gone. In its wake was a new life and one that he intends not to let be as awful as his old one. Not for his sake but his daughter's.
