| Personality: Archer is extremely careful about his image and what he projects. Thinking over every word before he says it, constantly needing to make sure he looks decent, and more than a bit prideful when it comes to dealing with people. For Archer everything is something of a long game and if it isn't from the outset he can obsess over how to make it so for a future purpose that more often than not benefits him in some way. Archer very much focuses on control when it comes to his interactions with people. While rarely for malevolent means, Archer namely doesn't like the idea of people not moving to a script that he outlines. Extremely uncomfortable, flustered, and uneasy when thrown off his game? Archer often does everything he can to either avoid reaching that point at all or turning a situation back on its head and trying to get some footing from which he can take control again. When speaking Archer doesn't use contractions, something that makes his speech seem slightly mechanical and stiff, which fits in his habit to take the occasional pause when speaking as he thinks out what he is going to say before he says it. Interview Who are you? "My name is Archer Zhu Huang although for the sake of others I, and others, refer to me as Archer Huang, professor Huang, Archer, what have you." Can you tell me a bit about yourself? "I was born in Edinburgh, although I grew up in London. Though is that any surprise with this accent?" [Archer chuckles] "Okay, I will admit. That is a lie. My birthplace that is. Endinburgh was the birthplace of someone rather close to me. Truth be told I have no idea where I was born. Adopted and all that. I could have looked up my records if I recall correctly but I decided against it. No point in causing any undue strife. After all, what if I look it up and my family's dead or criminals or something. I had lovely parents. So if my biological parents, whoever they might be, decide to seek me out? Well, I guess I cross that particular bridge when I come up to it." What is your orientation? "I am straight." How old are you? "Thirty three. I was born sometime in April. Again, adopted, so the exact details of my birth are up in the air. I decided to just say I was born on the first because it is easy enough to remember. You can imagine my surprise when I found out it was April Fool's day when I was older. I guess, I was the fool in that regard." How tall are you? "One-hundred eighty-two centimeters. Oh, right. Imperial system. Six feet. I am six feet; even." How many languages do you speak? "Two. English and Chinese respectively. Mandarin Chinese in particular but I know some Cantonese. Enough to hold my own but, well, do not drop me in the middle of Hong Kong or something and expect me to be functioning at one-hundred percent." Do you have any family? "I had a brother. God rest him. He died when I was, much, much younger. Car crash. Such a sad state of affairs...Can you excuse me? I would prefer to move on from talking about him. Just thinking about him is dredging up all sorts of memories and the last thing I would want is to lose my composure. Other than that? I have my daughter, Ana, she's adopted as well. I figured, well, adoption quite possibly helped save my life, or made it better beyond what one might have expected from my station in life, and I wanted to try and do the same for someone else. Carry through, I suppose would be the expression. I will say. The paperwork was a nightmare. I had things settled on the financial and job front but, well, I am a single father and it is quite hard for single parents to adopt. Completely understandable, do not get me wrong, but hard work all the same. Worth it though. Not a day goes by that she does not make me proud." What about friends? "I have a, I suppose, you could call them a confidant, yes, as well as someone who I meet for tea and conversation on occasion. So yes, I have a few friends. Though, truth be told. I rather enjoy being on my own." What do you do for a living or what do you want to do? "I teach English Composition and American Literature, yes, really, at Lakeside Community College. I have been there for about five years now. As for what I want to do? Well, this is it. True, I wish I could be teaching at some more prestigious university but I can teach, I can help bring up the next generation or help bring a prior one up to the level of skill needed to be in the modern work force, and how many people can say that? It is not the most glamorous of jobs but it is mine all the same. " Are you religious? "No more than anyone else, I think. I celebrate Christmas and all that but, well, I am just too busy these days to take most of my Sunday morning to be in church. Though, lord knows, pardon the pun, I wish I had some sort of divine help when it came to grading some of the papers I get." Are you seeing anyone? "No, particularly. I have a thing, on occasion, with someone but we are not dating. I think, that is for the best though. I just do not have the time and, well, if I do see someone I want to make sure it is someone my daughter likes. Last thing I would want is for there to be some hostility. I have heard all manner of horror stories about people who divorce their first partner and start dating or end up marrying someone else and the child is resentful the whole time. Which is not to say I do not have any sort of dating life. Though, more often than not I have to break things off. I dated a lovely lady here for a few months but our interests diverged a bit and, do not get me wrong, we are still friends, but we decided it was for the best to go our separate ways. Though to answer your question? No, I am not seeing anyone. I am open to the possibility but I am not going to actively seek it out. If it happens? It happens." Do you have any favorite foods? "Would it be stereotypical of me to say that one could win my heart with a good basket of Fish n' Chips? I am joking, I am joking, I can tolerate that sure but that answer would only be half right. I am fan of seafood. Shellfish in particular. There is a place here that makes a lovely snow crab. Utterly fantastic if I might say so." What do you do for fun? "Anything that allows me to have a quiet night in. Sometimes I sit in my living room with a good book or two and just burn away a couple of hours by going through a couple of chapters. On occasion I paint. Rare occasion and mostly still-lifes but it is something. I have tried to get into a bit of abstractness but it is just not for me let me tell you. There is just something about that replication of the real that I find so easy to do. Abstract is fine but people assume it is easy to just do whatever random thing and expecting it to all fall into place which, sure, can happen, but I prefer to have a frame work to build on and what better frame work is there than something you can see right in front of you. Other than that? I bake. I would offer you some but I do not think there is any left. That is on me. I mostly make just enough for three or four and I really should get used to making more bulk amounts on occasions like this when I am entertaining guests." | Hong Chee Lun | Father - Missing | Born the second son of notorious crime boss Hong Chee Lun? Archer, born Archie, already had big shoes to fill. Ones not made better by the fact that, given his birthday, Chee Lun openly referred to his second son as a joke played on him by some higher power. Despite being constantly talked down to, belittled, and insulted by his father? Archer, at least on the surface, did everything in his power to support the organization while he was working for it almost the second he was out of school. His attention split between working towards a teaching degree and arranging deals, negotiating, and occasionally being sent alongside his older brother An to enforce these deals; something that resulted in Archer being shot, something that Chee Lun didn't seem to care about beyond the job getting done. Meanwhile Archer had also been quietly undermining the organization. Embezzling money into a series of fake accounts put under the names of members of the organization whose loyalty to it was questionable as a form of cover. Following a series of events that resulted in a factory being burned down, two people dead, a baby girl orphaned, An injured, and Archer seemingly 'dead' shortly after in a car crash? The organization collapsed when Archer turned state's evidence and entered witness protection. Archer's father has always displayed animosity towards his son and following Archer's betrayal of the organization? While the man might be missing Archer has no doubt that Chee Lun is out there somewhat plotting for his death. |

While at times he questioned if him and his brother An had the same mother due to how different they are he knows they did due to the fact that apparently the reason she was no longer around was due to some sort of scandal that happened shortly after he was born. Archer wishes he could have known his mother but is content with the fact that he might never have any closure on that particular front. |

⭐ Archer, being a former member of the triad, in particular being the third in line of the 聯合漁民協會 (United Fishermen Association) aka The Hong crime family and was initially looking at significant jail time when he turned himself in and were it not for his ability to manipulate people and the information he was offering on the organization he was looking at 25 years minimum in a super-max high security prison.
⭐ Archer, while he isn't much of the laughing type aside from faking chuckles here and there to seem personable, has a distinctive laugh when he does actually laugh; namely due to the fact he snorts when he does so.
⭐ Archer's vision is so bad that he is considered legally blind. It is due to a rather extreme form of nearsightedness which makes everything past a certain point, three to five feet, impossible to see without his glasses due to all he can make out if vague shapes and blurs. He keeps a second pair of glasses wherever he goes. There's one in his vehicle, his desk at work, the satchel he carries into his classroom, and in his study/office at home, just on the off chance he loses the pair he's wearing or they break.
⭐ Archer attended a boarding school in the UK for the bulk of his teenage years, it was there that he adopted his current English accent, due to him being mocked for his natural Hong Kong one it was also there that he not only discovered he had a talent for but began honing his swimming abilities. As such today, he is not only a talent swimmer but his accent comes so natural that he often doesn't need to think to bring himself back to it. It just happens naturally.
⭐ Archer hates being photographed or recorded for multiple reasons. The first being that it poses a risk to him and his daughter given the program he is in but there's also matters that often times he can't get a shot to frame him in such a way that lives up to his standards, to simply not liking to be in pictures. However, he will allow himself to be photographed in situations where he needs to be. Such as licences and staff photos.
⭐ Archer is in public denial about his attraction to men but acknowledges that it exists. What this means that while he knows he is attracted to men, he won't admit it, he'll often change the subject or otherwise re-frame it in a way that allows enough degrees of separation from him that he can keep the attraction abstract. Currently there is only one person who knows about the fact he's bisexual.
⭐ Archer has an obsessive need to prim and fix himself as best as he can to get as close to "perfect" as he can get his appearance as possible. It isn't uncommon to see him fixing his glasses, tie, or hair enough that it might look like something of a nervous tick; even more so given he does it when he's at least a little bit stressed for one reason or another. Due to this desire to dress as best as he could and worried about how he appears? This has some side effects, namely, that, first, Archer is a never-nude and will insist on having some form of clothing on him at all times, even if it's just a pair of socks, and due to the fact that he considers women's fashions better designed and more attractive than men's? He does dress in women's clothing; albeit in complete privacy. In those moments however he feels his best and as least stressed as possible due to feeling comfortable with how he looks.
