Keiko works as a steward for Cadenza Manor, he has lived there long before Carmen came along and wrecked everything but remains loyal to the establishment regardless. There's a lot he won't say about himself, or about anything at all, which makes him a bit hard to befriend. He'll only speak when he needs to, though it always feels like he has more to say...

GHOST EYES
Keiko is one of the few who was gifted with clairvoyance, which, by definition, can mean a variety of different things but in this case means that Keiko can interact with ghost and angels(which are totally real by the way). This plays a huge part of his job considering the manor is full of both and they are all (mostly) his responsibility. To others of the same nature his eyes appear a ghostly pale blue; to those without clairvoyance they are black or dark grey (this applies to all with this ability). These people are referred to as mediums.
SIMON / BABYLON
Keiko is capable of astral projection, which, in an advanced form, allows him to take on an entirely different semi-physical body within the astral plane(that being the layer of existence in which ghosts/angels/etc. reside). For some reason he also chooses to take on an entirely different persona while in this state, that being Simon. Keiko can achieve this fairly easily by meditation (in which he finds a place with few distractions and concentrates on projecting his consciousness into the astral plane, which then takes a semi-physical form of his choosing). At this point Keiko’s body within the material plane falls into a state which is essentially sleeping (he actually does this regularly in place of normal sleeping, just in his dreams he exists as Simon in the astral plane in real time, but he can still sleep normally if he wants). This isn’t complicated I swear.
Babylon is Keiko’s guardian angel (you probably already know this), it rarely leaves his side and is mainly tasked with protecting him from harm and healing injuries/illnesses. It also provides moral support. The two can communicate telepathically.
Trivia
- Whether or not his hair is naturally purple is a mystery.
- He is not out as non-binary (and doesn't really feel the need to come out as long as Simon exists).
- He‘s Japanese American
DESIGN NOTES
- Eyes appear black or dark grey to those without clairvoyance (this is important). I often draw him with bright blue eyes but they are more often than not a dark dull color.
- He is slightly taller than Carmen, even without heels.
- His hair goes down to his shoulder blades; he usually has it in a loose ponytail, which sometimes rests on his shoulder.
RelatIONSHIPS
CARMEN [ coworker / ??? ]
Truthfully, Keiko wants to open up to Carmen but the fact that Simon is involved makes it a lot more complicated and he isn't ready for that. Maybe someday...
URIK [ acquaintance / ??? ]
His disposition makes him hard to enjoy being around but Keiko keeps a close eye on Urik regardless; overlooking spectral activity is one of his many jobs after all, especially when a certain ghost has more links to the material plane than he should.
BABYLON [ guardian angel ]
Keiko's guardian angel; never truly leaves his side. Babylon often provides support and advice when Keiko needs it, though it isn't always the most helpful. Keiko appreciates it anyway.
RAMONA [ coworker / friend ]
Ramona is one of the few people who knows that Keiko is non-binary; they share an interest in fashion and Keiko has borrowed a few of her dresses on occasion. Ramona will also go to him when she needs help with anything.
