Valdsam is a respected general from the Cat Laguz tribe, and representative of his people in the Meihua movement. Though he strikes an imposing figure whilst untransformed, as a cat he ends up quite small. Using this to his advantage, Valdsam quickly rose through the military ranks of his people, becoming known as the 'Lightning General' due to the speed and agility which he possesses on the battlefield. Acting as a mentor of sorts to the Meihua, he fights with all the ferocity he can muster for his new cause of unification.

Backstory
Valdsam is the ideal soldier: he fights for a noble cause (protecting his family), he's capable as a commander and on the front lines, and his negotiation prowess has improved the prestige of the Cat Laguz among the other tribes. Anyone who knew Valdsam when he was younger, though, would tell you that he wasn't always this way. Though he is a large man normally, when he transforms his diminutive size left him struggling among his peers. Taking his sisters' advice, he began training not for the raw power and accuracy his instructors taught but for a nimbler, more mobile form of fighting. By running circles around his classmates he quickly gained the attention of the higher-ups in the military, becoming a commander of the forces assigned to guard the precious minerals found in the Bereha desert from the all-too-common Beorc intrusions. His hit-and-run fighting style and ability to strike his foes with amazing speed earned him the nickname of "Lightning General".
Present Day
Valdsam was among the council when Mirësi and Caz sought support for their blossoming movement of Unity. Though the council was hesitant to help these seemingly renegade Eagles, Valdsam volunteered to coach them and to gather information for the Cats, to see if they should throw their lot in with the Meihua. Since then, he's fought alongside the burgeoning resistance, guiding their strikes and polishing their abilities to lead. Though he wouldn't admit it publicly, he's unsure if these kids fully understand what they're doing; he just hopes they don't die figuring it out.
