Profile

Name: Henry Mortimer

Gender: Male

Species: Human

Age: 60s

Status: Deceased

There’s been reports of a strange man in a suit standing nearby whenever people are about to die.

A dead man put in charge of reaping souls.

Henry comes off as a very cold and cranky man who acts mostly out of self-interest. He sees little value in people and doesn't even regard most of them. For those he cares about, however, he's quite protective and won't hesitate to throw hands if they get hurt. For now, this only applies to Allumette since she's his adoptive daughter, but he's starting to warm up to Ari and Melody as well.

Relationships:

Ari: "He's fine, I guess."

Melody: "...where to even begin with her..."

Pepper: "He needs to take his job more seriously."

Allumette: "I've only had her for a day and half, but if anything happened to her I would kill everyone in this room and then myself"

Prior to his death, Henry served a noble lord somewhere in Europe. He wasn't loyal to his employer at all, and only worked out of obligation. After he and a few other servants survived an attack on his employer's lands that killed everyone else, he took it upon himself to bury the corpses and dispose of his employer's body. He then continued working as an undertaker for a local cemetery before his death, after which, Death offered him a similar work to what he had been doing.

Henry doesn't particularly care for those he brings into the afterlife, he just wants his day over and done with. The only exception to this is Allumette, whom he initially gave the same cold treatment before treating her like his daughter.

random facts:

Henry was designed on the fly for a very brief appearance in a film project for school. And then the character stuck.

His design was made to align with his role. His hairstyle is supposed to look like devil horns since he was supposed to be a suspicious character within the film he was made for.

His last name has the French word for death in it (mort). Initially he would've just been called 'Mortimer' but the name didn't really fit his appearance.

He has a posh British accent. Melody mocks him with a Cockney accent when he's out of earshot (it's chewsday innit).
