Being an anime girl looks like a more ideal life after every day.
A shapeshifting demon whose main job is to watch people on monitors and wait for someone to die.
Melody's the kind of person/demon who lives by her own rules. She's easily bored and will do anything to quell her boredom, even if it means that someone might get hurt (just ask Ari). When first meeting someone, she'll try to act cutesy as per her anime-esque image, and strike when the poor victim least expects it.

Melody is a shapeshifting demon. It sounded cool until she realised that, for the longest time, she had no idea how she wanted to present herself as, and remained as her default form, a tentacled black glob of eyes. Due to her appearing terrifying to most humans and the paranoia her ability could cause, she was kept from interacting with them and was put in a watchman's job, where she observed what people liked to see. That still hadn't quelled her identity crisis since she kept transforming over and over again to the point that no one knew exactly who Melody was. It took an even longer time before she saw anime through the monitors, and found the designs cute enough to attempt to emulate them.
Due to the somewhat solitary and secretive nature of her job, she's stationed at a strange room in the limbo between life and death. She isn't alone, since there are a few other people living there and some new faces that occassionally pass by, but she's always wishing for more than she already has.
random facts:
She was designed way back in 2016, but she didn't have any story up until somewhere in 2019.
At one point she was written as a job-hopping demon. Really, the only consistent part of her story was that she's a demon.
She definitely wasn't intended to be Hatsune Miku at first. Surely not.
