Profile

                    General Physical Condition

Healthy and physically fit, on cold days he sometimes limps a bit, but its not too apparent in full armor.

                    Apparel & Accessories

He wears a full suit of armor almost all the time, most people  don't think he's a human, but a robot. The armor is well made and aside  from looking him head-on, up close, and through the slats of the  helmet, its hard to prove otherwise. However, some people have seen him  in his office without a helmet on, but this is rare.

When not wearing armor he wears simple cotton shirts and trousers, as  well as leather boots. All of these items are generally cheaply made and  not fancy for someone who walks around in extremely ornate, rare and  expensive armor.

                    Personal history

Born Sulath 6th, 184 AE in the town of Orkhney, the third  child of the couple. A year later they welcomed another girl into the  family, and five years after that, his mother had sextuplets. His  parents provided for the family, his mother an impressionist painter  selling large landscape paintings and portraits, and his father a  strongman with a local circus.  When Joryn was 14, he began to secretly learn magic. In the town, magic  was a taboo, and those who learned it were taken away to the capital.  Joryn ignored this and began to practice magic with his boyfriend at the  time, and one of his younger brothers caught them together. Afraid of  being outed for both his relationship and magic, he killed his brother  in panic. He regretted it of course, but ended up telling his parents  his brother was in an accident. Some of his siblings became suspicious  as Joryn avoided direct answers on what happened.  While dealing with the mental consequences of murdering his sibling, he  later found out that he was cheated on and was left for another guy.  Some month later, at 15, he dated another boy, but ended up leaving him  to pursue a girl, and also try to ignore and cover up his attraction to  men. He still pursued magic regardless of the past, sneaking off for  over a year to teach himself. He was later outed as both gay and a mage  by the ex he cheated on, and as a result he fled to Kathra to avoid his  family, ex, and the mage hunters from the town and Caliophe.  In Kathra he was visited by the goddess Astaris, several times, to  perhaps give him some guiding wisdom to improve his life, but he shunned  her help thinking she was pining for him. Offended, she decided to  instead watch his suffering until he apologizes for being a stupid train  wreck. Owls also seem to attack him whenever they are in proximity, but  he doesn't know how to explain that.  He stayed in Kathra well into 17, and tried his hand at gambling what  little money he had. He knew his father and mother had less than honest  dealings in life as he’d grown older, and stupidly thought their  scamming skills would be inherited without practice. He lost everything  he had, became indebted to the owner of the gambling den he tried to rip  off, and later found out his first love was killed by the den owner as a  warning. This was also around the time that the den owner tried to have  him killed too, but Joryn admitted he was a mage and could help the  other more alive rather than dead.  Joryn ended up doing odd jobs for the den, including mugging and  assaulting people, actually learning to gamble and commit other scams,  before he stumbled upon his older sister at Pan’s gate, Maluli’s port.  He attempted poorly to avoid her, but she tracked him down in Maluli and  demanded an explanation of why he ran off three years ago. He ended up  confessing killing his brother, being a mage, and pretty much everything  that was plaguing his life, including being indebted to a gambling den  boss. She resolved to help him escape, and succeeded in doing so, but  not without being captured and tortured in his place. She was let free  at the end of the year, but at that point, Joryn had fled to Kaeliso and  later to the Umbril Isles after seeing a flyer for guards. A year  later, at 19, he received a set of armor from the sister he thought he  left for dead, but found out from his parents that she no longer spoke  to anyone, and instead wished to see him again. He was too cowardly to  do so and has not left the Umbril isle since.  His command of the guard was relatively uneventful, and somehow he  didn’t get fired. In 208 AE he hired several ex Order of the Broken Claw  as guards and promoted the majority of them to Captains, one woman  named Talikas he promoted to his second in command. At 25, in 209 AE, he  broke a few ribs and his leg due to a fall into a pit, where several  other guards landed on him. He was carried to the hospital by Shepherd,  mostly only hearing about this event in a report. It took him several  months before he was able to move about on crutches, though he took that  time to be exceptionally lazy and had his second in command run the  guard force. When he was fully recovered he resumed command of the  guard, finally using his proper title of Commander versus the informal  Captain.  In 211AE, Ambassadors from Caliophe and Luphioti took over the town, but  that winter while they were rounding up mages, he staged a rebellion  during the chaos of a terrorist attack on the ambassador ships, stealing  control of the city back and imprisoning the remainder of the  Ambassadors in the city.  Sometime in Spring of 212AE, Joryn received a letter from the girl he’d  dated 13 years ago, finding out that she was the Queen of Caliophe and  was requesting his presence at the capital. He’s refrained from sharing  the status of the city and her Ambassadors, but her letter hinted that  she knew what was going on. He also neglected to inform Shepherd and  hopes the nonsense goes away, trying to appeal to her interests in him  should also extend to protect the city, because he likes the city and  it's probably a futile attempt.

You cause up to six  pillars of stone to burst from places on the ground that you can see  within range. Each pillar is a cylinder that has a diameter of 5 feet  and a height of up to 30 feet. The ground where a pillar appears must be  wide enough for its diameter, and you can target the ground under a  creature if that creature is Medium or smaller. Each pillar has AC 5 and  30 hit points. When reduced to 0 hit points, a pillar crumbles into  rubble, which creates an area of difficult terrain with a 10-foot radius  that lasts until the rubble is cleared. Each 5-foot-diameter portion of  the area requires at least 1 minute to clear by hand.

If a pillar is created under a  creature, that creature must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be  lifted by the pillar. A creature can choose to fail the save.

If a pillar is prevented from reaching  its full height because of a ceiling or other obstacle, a creature on  the pillar takes 6d6 bludgeoning damage and is restrained, pinched between the pillar and the obstacle. The restrained creature  can use an action to make a Strength or Dexterity check (the creature’s  choice) against the spell’s save DC. On a success, the creature is no  longer restrained and must either move off the pillar or fall off it.

At Higher Levels. When  you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, you can  create two additional pillars for each slot level above 6th.
