- Both him and his brother Samuel were adopted by their uncle, Maxwell, and his wife, Edith, after their mother ran off to another country alongside their abusive stepfather. Rosalie is their adoptive sister.
- Huge perfectionist and a bit of a goody two-shoes. Has some know-it-all tendencies, not entirely unearned - he does genuinely know a lot. He's very smart, and quick on his feet both intellectually and physically.
- He seems very cheerful and upbeat. He prefers to ignore his unresolved emotional issues, and covers it up with a facade of over the top optimism and positivity. He's a very private person too, and doesn't like talking about himself.
- Very protective over his younger siblings, especially Samuel. Their biological father was absent, and their stepdad was a complete douche, so he frequently acted as a father figure for Samuel when they were young. He never really shook that mindset, even though they both have a healthy father figure in their life now.
