Tara Ahearn was born to Elizabeth and Billy Ahearn, a pair of moderately wealth philanthropists, and enjoyed something of a privileged life. Growing up, Tara often got everything she might have ever thought to want or need, and found herself enjoying a life of relative comfort. Granted it was a life often marked by living with only one or neither of her parents, whom Tara often had to fight with their charitable activities for attention and usually lost. As such Tara grew more to know her caretakers than her parents whom she only really knows in a passing sort of way. As a direct result of this Tara has often been fairly distant compared to others. Preferring to be on her own than get entangled in anything. A trend that led her to be fairly isolated growing up until the day she shared a class with a girl named Alex. Almost instantly the two meshed and from their friendship Tara also made friends with others including Jack and Maxx although only the other three does she keep in any form of contact with. As Tara grew to have friends and learn about their live's stories that philanthropic urge she inherited came to the forefront of her mind but rather than simply joining her parents in working their various charities Tara has opted to hopefully try and erect permanent change by going into politics. At least that's the plan.
Tara is doing her best to manage her life between a mountain of course work as well as her job working as an assistant to members of the city council and working an intern anywhere else that might help her future chances. Of course all work and no play would be an apt descriptor and up until her best friend Alex's return it might have seemed that was the path she was bound to take but slowly and surely she is doing her best to try and find a proper work/fun balance that reminds her just who she wants the chance to be fighting for if her name ever did come up on the ballots.
