Evanska was born in Utopia to Valefor and Lateralus. Her birth occurred right after her father's return from the Underworld. Since then, she has spent all of her time hanging out with her parents and her twin brother. She eventually started traveling to the mortal plane and on her first visit she met a colt named Tzora. She and Tzora had a race together and while she lost, she considers him a good buddy of hers now. After the race, her dad took her back home to Utopia. Several months later, she meets a foal named Isis in Utopia.

She hears of a gathering in the Opaque Beach and attends it along with her brother, Nakos, who she drags along. While she's there, she meets Leviathan and his mortal friend, Nessa. After the event, the four of them meet again in the mortal plane. Evanska then meets a fiend named Alka in Mount Malvolia. She also meets another seraph named Raziel. The two of them become close friends and start hanging out a lot together. Evanska shows him Mount Malvolia and they discuss all of the good things that seraphs can do in the mortal world. Evanska contemplates this idea and decides that they should bring the idea up to Rasa and Cadence.

Only a few days later, a meeting is called in Utopia where Rasa announces that Cadence has been lost to the Mist. Evanska is confused and angry at this, but welcomes the new Lord, Nehemiah. After the meeting, she and Raziel approach Rasa and Nehemiah to propose their idea for a seraph corp - a group of seraphs that go into the mortal world to help. The Afterlife leaders are pleased by her suggestion and Rasa offers Evanska a position as lead of the Guardian Angels, a position that Evanska is confused by at first.

Several months later, Utopia as a whole notices that Nehemiah has been gone for a while. Evanska immediately suspects the Underworld and she is not alone in her opinion. Rasa goes to the mortal world and makes an announcement to all that Nehemiah has been taken and that anyone with any information should go to her or any other Utopian. The announcement draws an interesting guest in Everest, a fiend from the Underworld who mocks the Utopians while claiming to know nothing about Nehemiah's whereabouts. Rasa instructs the Utopians to capture Everest for questioning back in Utopia. Evanska is all too happy to comply, tired of the Underworld antics and ready to fight back against them. She helps take Everest down with several of her Utopian companions, including Sacoorah, Ouray, Cadence, and her father. Everest is taken back to Utopia.

Rasa instructs them to search for any clues of Nehemiah's whereabouts and Evanska joins the hunt, searching the Freelands that she knows so well. While in The Forbidden Mire, she encounters a mortal mare named Anahita, who has found bloody feathers as evidence of a struggle. Evanska confirms that the feathers are from Nehemiah. She calls to Rasa to show her the evidence.
