Profile

Personality:

Pollux is softspoken and short in words. However, do not mistake their lack of words with fear -- they are very brave, and perhaps even a bit reckless to a fault. One of her favorite hobbies, perhaps picked up by her father, are games of chance, despite the fact that her luck is terribly poor. She's also a good cook, and keeps an ear out to help those in the Island Initiative that she trusts. Lastly, and perhaps the most surprising, is that she enjoys pulling pranks on others -- though this doesn't become obvious until she's made herself comfortable on the island.

Background:

A blind orphan adopted at a young age by Sorrel, a wandering, gambling cleric. Pollux has grown up relatively disconnected from major cities and powers, and because of this, has a very naive view of the world. After becoming an adult proper, she requested from Sorrel the ability to travel on her own; after some thought, the cleric allowed it, but only on the condition that she'd take what was rightfully hers -- a pendant, one in which her parents had told Sorrel to keep a hold onto until Pollux was mature enough.

Now, with pendant in hand, Pollux travels the world not only to understand what her family was like, but what had happened to them long ago. She comes in contact with the Island Initiative, and, after realizing that the place offers means to find information, joins them in order to learn more about the world. This is prominently through Nicholas -- and, a bit more indirectly, Castor -- who help bring to light not only what this pendant symbolizes but perhaps, what it means to those who bear the marking that the pendant has.

Along the way, Pollux learns from Carvus that her brother, thought to be dead, is very much alive. On top of that, when she goes out of the way to search for Carvus, she begins to understand why Castor took the guise of the Phantom to be begin with -- with many targets suddenly on her back, she comes to terms with the fact that Pollux is actually a very, very dangerous figure Ysingmyr's forces want dead.

Learning this truth, Pollux decides to head to where it all began -- to Erdomin, the city burned to the ground in the far off past by Ysingmyr's religious folk. She learns from her grandmother, Capella, that she's one of the two remaining heirs to the Aestus family name, and because of that, capable of wielding Capella's finest work -- the Twin Star Weapons, capable of bringing Ysingmyr's flame back to the source. With this knowledge in mind, she teams up with her brother, Castor, to put an end to the dangers Ysingmyr has put on not only the island, but even their own country.

One the dust settles, Pollux takes the time to consider what she wants to do. In the end, she decides to take on her travelling lifestyle once more, this time with her newfound sibling, Carvus, at their side.

Other Info:

  • Pollux is serious and stern, but loves to pull pranks in order to destress (especially if she's angry). After knowing that Castor is in fact alive, she often plays pranks involving their similar appearance.
  • Pollux is a terrible actor, but perhaps because of this, was quite the star when the island was in a play.
  • She's a wonderful cook, and thanks to Carvus, has started to learn how to track and hunt.
