Your name is Reynald, and you are the Calyrex of this world. Being the descendent of Goddess Leslie (Virizion) and Goddess Charisse (Celebi), you have been taught the art of mounting your steeds and gifted the ability to foresee the past, present, and future. Many Galarians within the Crown Tundra refer to you as the "King of Bountiful Harvests" due to your role in bringing lush vegetation and harvests yearly. For you, it was their gift for helping you recover from what you experienced during the Darkest Day. You are the rightful heir of Dynamax energy as you are the one who discovered it and seized it as your own. With it, you use it to bring the havest you are known for. With your right hand, you can cause the land you hover over to be covered in verdant grass and blooms. With your left hand, you make the fields of fruit become ripen and heavy. Other than your harvest, you are known for your healing and blessings. WIth a simple touch, you are able to channel a level of healing that rivals the God of Remedy and even mend the heart.

All of this changed when Nathanial made his presence known and seized the Dynamax energy as his own as a means to survive. You did his best to fight him off. However, in the end, you lost. You couldn't give chase as Nathaniel activated all the dens that remained dormant in the region. Using all bits of your power, you forcibly tried to calm them down and succeeded in doing so. However, those dens became permanantly marked as his domain, and your powers trigger the weather throughout Galar to become permanently wacky. For years, you spent fearing the day Nathaniel would return and carry the fear of using Dynamax energy beyond healing as you worry of becoming a monster. You find yourself wondering if you're the poison of the world and is worthy of carrying the title of being a king. As time past, you find yourself missing the one thing that you avoided as a result of hiding away from the Gods you were once close to: family.

Height:
5'2" (157.48 cm)
Weight:
121 lbs (54.9 kg)

Appearance:

Reynald takes the appearance of a youngish, adult man. He has slightly pale skin with a thin built. Fixed on his hair are long, green rabbit ears with the inner part of the ear being grayish white. Found on the center of his back is a burn scar that takes up a large portion of it. It is something that very few seen as he always does his best to keep it hidden from sight. His eyes are a grayish blue with dark blue triangle shaped pupils. Underneath both of his eyes are three dark blue dots of similar sizes.

His attire consists of a gray shirt with a stitch-like pattern seen near the top with a green haori resting over it with striped lining and grayish bandages over it (around the waist). His haori and shirt are tucked into his green hakamas that are held up by a white thread. On his head is a green crown with gray jewels fixed on it with what looked to be a heart shaped jewel in the center. Completing the outfit are white bandages that cover the entirety of his legs with exception of his feet and a blue cape that gradients to white at the bottom.

Notes:
  • Reynald's hair and clothes color change based on what form he happens to be in. Shadow Rider has these colors while Ice Rider has these colors.
  • When Dynamaxed, the aura around Reynald is blue. This is a hint to the fact that the dynamax energy that flows from Reynald is not of Nathaniel's but his own.
    • For a brief second, you can see that same blue aura whenever he heals someone or grows some form of vegetation.
  • Reynald refuses to wear shoes as he claims he needs no such thing since he is capable of levitating. He is alo a massive fan of floating since it makes him feel taller.
  • Reynald often keeps the Reins of Unity hidden around his neck as tassels.
  • Reynald can make his rabbit ears appear and disappear on command.
  • While he's rarely seen outside his normal clothes, Reynald is fond of wearing oversized clothes.
    • On that same note, he's also fond of dresses and anything of like since he doesn't understand why people are so set on associating these garbs with a specific gender.
  • Reynald will cry if you take his crown off without his permission.
  • Reynald doesn't actually need glasses to see. He just wears them because he feels cool with them on.

Personality

Traits

  • Curious
  • Kindhearted
  • Childlike
  • Wise

Likes

  • Carrots. He loves to munch on any and all carrots that he is able to get his hands on. It's his favorite food.
  • Feeling tall. The man associates being tall with power. Due to that, he must do everything he can to become taller so he can achieve great power.
  • Being carried. Do you understand how much work it takes to levitate, and how nice it is to have someone carry you in arms?
  • Helping others. He wants to be able to help everyone in whatever way he can since seeing them happy makes him smile.

Dislikes

  • Anyone touching his crown. That's something his mother (Celebi) made for him, and he will cry if someone were to break it.
  • Open palms. He has a slight fear of seeing them giving his encounter with Nathaniel that left him traumatized.
  • Anyone not trusting him. He doesn't want others to be wary on him! He's a pretty friendly guy, and he will hate if people can't trust him!
  • Being lonely. He hates the idea of being by himself to the point that he will cry.

"For surely a king is first a man. And so it must follow that a king does as all men do: the best he can."-Cameron Dokey

A benevolent God to almost all he meets, Reynald is a cheerful man that enjoys being in the company of others regardless on if you're a friend or foe. Well...maybe not so much with Nathaniel, but that's besides the point. When you first meet him, you'll find that he cares deeply for people and Pokémon alike to the point that he will do everything in his power to protect others. Hell, he'll even get hurt in the process if it means protecting them. After all, Reynald is generous in heart and will do anything to please those who are in need. It something that stem from following the teachings of both of his parents. It should be noted that Reynald cares deeply for those he consider his family and will break down if he's away from them without warning or for far too long for his liking (or a mixture of both).

While he may not be the most optimistic guy in the world, he is objective and capable of looking towards the future if pushed properly. After all, this is something that he learns from once being a King. He can be a bit cheeky and childish at times as noted by how he does briefly control those weakminded with his psychic abiltiies and his reaction when it comes to certain things (i.e toys and candies). Some often note how he can be unwilling when it comes to confronting issues and will do whatever he can to avoid the issue if it ends up being something that he doesn't feel he isn't properly ready to deal with. If there's one thing that Reynald fears, it's the idea of having others lose faith in him and ignore him. It's something that he dealt with for many years.

Fighting Style

Reynald's fighting style is a very interesting one as it is one that changes based on what form he is. In his normal form, he's primarily a special attacker. However, even then, he doesn't tend to fight too often while in this form unless he has to. For him, he doesn't see fighting in this form as being worth it since it's not exactly the strongest in the world. Hell, he even argues it's a tadbit weaker than most Gods. However, when he's in his Rider forms, that changes. In his Ice Rider, the male relies on his physical attack to fight while having bulkier defenses at the cost of his speed. In some respects, he almost rivals Zamazenta. Meanwhile, Shadow Rider is the reverse of the Ice Rider form (being a fast special attacker with low defenses). Shadow Rider is almost a special attack version of Zacian in some respects.

Healing

If it wasn't for Zarude, Reynald would have been the the God of Remedy and Healing. After all, the male is a very powerful healer. With his healing powers, the male can restore organisms to their optimal health. He can go as far as to cure damaged organisms, wounds, broken bones, low vitality, and diseases/poisoning. Now it should be noted that the male can't revive others or help regrow limbs. That is something that even he is unable to do, given the amount of energy that is needed for it. Speaking of energy, the amount of energy that Reynald puts into heaing determines how good the healing becomes. As such, if he were to give it his all, he can heal wounds that could potentially kill someone.

Chrono Vision

Chronokinetic Vision is a power that took Reynald a long time to master. With this, the male can see any point in time, from only a few seconds or minutes into the future and/or past. If the male is too stressed, the power itself will trigger randomly as it is tied to his emotions and cause Reynald to deal with what is known as "Whispers". The Whispers can be best describe as being the "voice of time" and can be quite stressful to deal with as they are never silent. Interesting enough, Reynald rarely uses this power too often unless he has to. It's mostly because he doesn't see the need to use them in case it's for emergency. It should be noted that he is also prone to have visions of past, present, and future simultaneously. It's rare, but it happens.

Archetype: Arthurian Legend

Underneath his mother (Virizion), Reynald was trained in the art of being a knight as it would be important later in his life. As a knight, he manifest great courage and nobility in the face of adversity. He serve as a face of order and is often mistaken as being perfect. His compassion and selfness for others makes it easier for others to trust him and join forces with him. He inspire to grow stronger and is rarely the type that gives us easily. He is skilled when it comes to combat and are able to pick up on how a enemy fights over the course of a battle. One thing the male is known for is his ability to understand an opponent's method of thinking and fighting, allowing him to anticipate the moves of the opponent.

The King of Harvest

Almost all Gods are infertile. It is something that Mew and Arceus decided would be for the best to avoid any oddities such as Phione. The other Gods were ok with as most didn't care to have children. After all, they had their duties to deal with and lack the time needed to raise a child. Not only that, but they were allowed to have a child at the request of Mew (if they felt ready). Mew was a kindhearted God and valued the health/happiness of her creations. As such, it was not hard for Charisse the Celebi and Leslie the Virizion to ask Mew to give them chance to raise a child. Both were pretty responsible and had all the time they can to ensure it would grow up. It would be the first day of Spring where Charisse would give birth to a small, rabbit-like Pokemon who carried the Goddess' affinity towards plants and Charisse's ability to see various points in time. With a budding head that resembles a crown and a small frame, this new God would receive the following name: Reynald the Calyrex.

Reynald was not the strongest God in the world. While he may have been stronger than Manaphy's daughter, he lacked the physical prowess his mothers' have. It was something he didn't seek the need to change as he wasn't interested in fighting. For most of his life, Reynald spent his time in the Crown Garlands (the lands that rest just below Postwick). He would often spend his time growing whatever vegetations he like while under the watchful eyes of Leslie and Charisse. Charisse would teach him the art of healing and the ways to control his visions. Leslie would teach him how to strategize the best way to win a battle and protect those he loves. Both would teach him how life is something that should be cherished. It is something that he would take to heart over the years. His knowledge of healing did briefly made Mew consider making him the God of Healing. However, Reynald decided against it and stated that he prefers to be the eyes of divination. It would be something that would lead to him being the God of Prophecy, a role where he bestows humans' predictions of what will occur later in their life as a means to get them to make choices that would hopefully help them make the right choice in the future.

In Crown Garland, he would carry the role of the King among the Pokemon that lived in these lands. It is a title that Pokemon still cling to so many years later as generations would always remember the time where he saved the forest Pokemon from an incoming meteor that could have destroyed them had he not used his foresight. The title would carry towards the humans when the man would start to help grow their harvest after they briefly helped him recover after being attacked by a Pokemon. However, humans would call him the "King of Bountiful Harvest" instead of simply King. It would be during this time and the current times where tales involving Reynald would be a bit off due to some mixups. Regardless, Calyrex took the title to heart and strived to become the best king for Galar despite his parent's warnings of the weight being king has.

It would be around this time that Calyrex would learn of Dynamax energy. Unknown to most people, the energy used for mega evolution and dynamaxing derives from the same source as it is commonly used for Pokemon to evolve. This energy allows for Pokemon to push their bodies to their limits that they change to the point they almost evolve into something new (mega evolution) and make them become something similar to Primal Groudon/Primal Kyogre by becoming Kaijus (dynamaxing). Due to the nature of Dynamaxing and Mega Evolution, they split off from this energy and carry the need of champions to ensure there is balance. Rayquaza is the champion of mega evolution while dynamaxing lacks one. As such, Reynald decides to be the champion of dynamaxing, ensuring that the energy isn't misused. For him, he uses this energy to heal and uses his powers in ways to help others.

However, this would change when Nathaniel the Eternatus would fall into the world and awaken from his slumber. Unknown to Reynald, Nathaniel would study his use in Dynamax energy and slowly use the energy as a means to grow stronger. The stronger he became, the more influence he had over dynamax energy. It would be a century before Reynald realizes something was amiss with the nature of Dynamaxing. By then, it was too late. Nathaniel had entered his Eternamax form and activated every den within Galar. Reynald attempted to defeat Nathaniel, only to lose. Oddly enough, Nathaniel didn't kill him and went about causing chaos in Galar. With his back against the wall, Reynald had no choice but to forcibly prevent Orin the Zacian and Alexandra the Zamazenta from being able to Dynamax so they wouldn't be affected by Eternatus' powers. Once that was done, with every ounce of his power, the male then forcibly calmed every den in Galar. However, it came at a cost. He lost his position as the source of Dynamaxing as Nathaniel would claim every den in the region as his own and ascend to a level where he (being Reynald) was nothing to the dynamax energy. Not only that but the sudden surge of power lead to the weather within the Wild Areas to become unstable to the point the weather became as chaotic as it is today.

Upon learning that he lost Orin and Alexandra and what he caused, Reynald retreated from the world. He didn't bother to contact any of the Gods and blamed himself for what happened. He started to question if he had what it takes to be king and didn't bother to do anything when his steeds would leave him and Crown Garland would become Crown Tundra due to the sharp shift of weather. His powers would weaken as people lost faith in him, and his memories would become a bit shaky. The God would create the Galar Birds to have Gods who have no mercy killing him if he were become the same monster that Nathaniel became. It would be many years later when Helem the Zarude would inform him about Nathaniel being taken care of by a group of humans, and they could help him get back on his feet. At first, Reynald refuses to consider the thought until 2-3 years later when he would lose touch with Regirdrago and Regieleki that he would get so panicked to the point he decides to search for them. The thought of losing more people was something other than his parents is something that he couldn't stand with his loneliness.

What he didn't realize was that he would end up with found family along the way.

The Fallen King

Reynald knew the Darkest Day restarted when he felt the power spot within the major cities of Galar burst with the power of Nathaniel awakening them. The trauma of what occurred lead to him seeking refuge in Illex Forest where Charisse resided. It was cowardly to do, but Reynald didn't care. He couldn't stand being in the same region as the creature that haunted him. It would be days later where he would return to Galar and be surprised by the sight of the region being intact. He would learn from Helem the Zarude about the thralls and a group of mortals managing to take care of Nathaniel. Now...Reynald assumed that "take care" meant the God was killed and was pleased. Reynald considered the idea of maybe asking for their help in making people remember who he was in Crown Tundra...but decided against it since he felt a king shouldn't have to rely on others to get what he wanted. This continued for 2-3 years...before his loneliness got to him when he found himself unable to enter the temple Lux the Regieleki and Veles the Regidrago resided in.

Through some slight manipulation of Leon's father and Peony, Reynald managed to convinced Katsu and several others to come to the Crown Tundra and reveal his hope of them helping others remember who he was, help him get in contact with Regis and hopefully find his royal steeds. It was during this journey that Reynald would meet Orin the Zacian and Alexandra the Zamazenta (his two knights and best friends) and express excitement at the sight of them. He would learn of Nathaniel being alive and breakdown at the mere sight of him before eventually learning that Nathaniel wasn't this evil dragon that wanted to destroy the world. He was simply a Pokemon that was trying to survive. It was partially why he didn't kill Reynald as he saw a bit of himself into the smaller Pokemon. He would get in contact with Lux and Veles, learning they simply were vibing quietly with each other for a week.

Throughout the journey, the struggle with his identity was something he always found himself battling with. Was he a king? Did he had a potential to be a villain? Was he worth being a God? Those are the things he struggled with as he found himself questioning if he was hurting the people around him. As he gains his steeds and made a name for himself in the Crown Tundra, he made a realization that he try to ignore for some long: he didn't want to be king. He was fine with being God. Being a God didn't mean he had to make his presence known. He didn't have to worry about having to carry the additional responsibility of being a king. He can't..be a king. It was stressing him out and he found himself missing the things in life that he enjoyed....like a family. He wanted a family. Not just the one he had with the Gods...but also with Katsu and them. He craved it...he missed it...and he was so thankful that he had the chance to receive it when they agree to be his second family.
