FUN FACTS N DESIGN NOTES ABOUT ARVIN!:
- He's one of my oldest characters, (2001) he went through a LOT of changes, and didn't start to become what he is today until about 2009 onward. He's been continually updated, and just grown over the course of my lifetime really. He's very dear to me~
- Arvin's hair has never changed in style, like ever... It's only slightly adjusted shape as my capability to draw improved, but he's always had the same unkept weird hair-horns. Just apply anime-logic to the physics of it. (endures despite no hair product, hair reacts/emotes, etc.) LMAO
- He should always have sharp pupil-eyes, and can look a little toony. Wide =✗ Round =✗ Detailed =✗ Obvious exceptions would be comedic or dramatic emphasis but generally speaking he should have thin slitted eyes.
- Arvin can wear many styles, and can be with or without make-up. His bare eyelids should still be darkened. Clowny, circus and mime are definitely on point, harlequinade styles especially. Casually, he kind of has a laid-back comfort look, often choosing baggy pants and a simple tee. Earthy or dark clothing is fine in this case, but he does also like fun prints and designs. His raver look can be fun and diverse! He'll wear almost anything, usually Ayria and friends dressing him for the venue.
- Arvin's personality and mannerisms is a wide range. He is carefree, good-natured, dim-witted, animated, sensitive, sensual, high-spirited, and maybe a little naive to a fault. He doesn't like to pry, and becomes anxious at those prying into him. He struggles with a sense of belonging, insecurity about his sexual needs and body, and facing harsh rejection from those closest to him.
- Arvin has ADHD, and thus has symptoms that coincide with the disability that can be exhibited in his mannerisms or mood shifts. (Ex: Fidgeting, forgetfulness, brain fog, hyper-focus to chronic boredom, etc)
- Sakura and Arvin are roommates in a separate story-line and are close-knit friends! Sakura owns the apartment but Arvin earns his stay by electing himself to do housework and chores, cooking and grocery shopping... She doesn't mind, he kinda enables her laze attitude xD
Arvin is a wannabe performer, having some training and experience in circus acting and arts from his time on the road with a traveling sort of Cirque du Vulgar group (A naughty circus). He never carried through with this dream however, parting ways and continuing to live life in the moment. He isn't ever staying in a single place for long either and grown used to a nomadic lifestyle. He is very flexible, can perform body contortionism and contact-juggling, and similar acts and skills. He's a man of sultry talents as well...
To this current day, he works as Franky's personal assistant; a magic sorcerer and time-traveling cat that he was hired by, to care for her old victorian home and attend house duties. In exchange, he gets room and board! She often conducts and experiments a lot of her potions, spells and perversions on him as well as his other partner and roomate, Kottr the tiger. Kottr is a cyborg mechanic from outer-space, acquired from a cryogenic chamber discovered by them. There is also Rook, the cheetah and necromancer. He is a friend to Arvin, although sometimes Rook needs his space from the lad.
He has two demonic snails that act as his familiars, occasionally his consorts under binding possessions and granted wishes... Yami, and Koomi. They give him advice and or/support in supernatural prospects. Arvin has also learned much about the origins of life, creation, demons, the hyper-reality and alternate worlds, and his own ancestry from the snails..! they are pretty knowledgeable and have become very helpful this way, but sometimes the cost is great for their services.
