PERSONALITY:

Mortimer is introverted, preferring the company of a few friends, rather than a bunch of people. He can come off as jumpy and shy, usually quiet until he’s comfortable around someone to talk. If you’re someone familiar though and you bring up any of his interests, he could talk your ear off for hours. Mort cares deeply and pours his attention and affection into those he cares about, often forgetting to give himself some love too in the process. He's got a very overactive imagination that tends to leave him daydreaming instead of being productive. He’s very curious and inquisitive. He loves knowing how things work. Be it people, animals, machines, what have you.

HISTORY:

- Family / Upbringing:
Mortimer comes from a pretty average family. His parents are house stagers, and their enthusiasm for it is very apparent in their lifestyle. Mort helps them out occasionally, he’s good at numbers so he’s usually an extra set of eyes when it comes to book balancing. Other than that though, he’s always had an interest in spooky things, starting when the houses and living channels his parents watched would host “top 10” lists of the most spooky / haunted / extremely decorated places they could find around Halloween. It expanded from there, thriller movies, horror and science fiction novels, and ghost hunting shows, he just couldn’t get enough! Despite also being really scared of it all, he kept indulging cause it was fun. Eventually even getting himself some cheap ghost hunting gear to try it out for himself, and learned how to make his own. Eventually leading him to have a chance encounter with other local ghost hunters that have since become his teammates and friend group.

- The Ghoul Getters:
For a bit now, he's been running with a small group of fellow paranormal enthusiasts, investigating locations for activity as a sort of part-time job. He appreciates his teammates a lot, and supports them the best he can. He's awfully frightened though at the spooky locations they visit, and prefers to stay in their van to monitor equipment from the outside. Only actually going in when situations get not great and he has to help pull a scared friend out.

- Mirstone and Beacon
After highschool, Morty was ready for a change of pace, and wanting to branch off on his own a little. He heard of Mirstone in a few online articles he'd happen to come across, hearing of the strange happenings that were reported there. Thinking it'd be a hotspot for The Ghoul Getters to get some good business, he packed up and headed out there to scope things out. It wasn't long either before he learned of the cafe, having played DnD in highschool, he gladly signed up for the groups there, as he learned more about the beacon company, it intrigued him. This could be an opportunity to build some confidence and do even more. Maybe there were ghosts to hunt in other dimensions too?
