A dystopia set in the future, far after magic began to surface in our present day.
At one point in human history, children began to be born with extraordinary powers, marked by extraordinary eye colours. To many, these were considered gifts of the gods. Hence, the world called them the Gifted. However, businesses and countries alike sought these people to work for their own means. Infants were ripped from their parents, taken to secret institutions, and trained in the art of war. Others were taken in by the rich as prizes, entertainment, or even mascots for corporations. In the midst of this chaos, a few towns emerged with freedom fighters - people determined to protect Gifted children from being conscripted like their predecessors, an oddity in a world where tensions between Gifted and Non-Gifted peoples were high. In the span of a century, the world had entirely changed. In particular, three factions gained significance in the world, carving their way to a stalemate in the famed metropolis of Hart City, a jurisdiction under peace enforcement - for now.
The first faction is the Academy - a governmentally run institution for the purpose of 'Gifted education', but conscripts the Gifted for war.
The second is the Resistance - a rebel organization sworn to bring the Academy down and restore human rights to all Gifted, at the cost of Non-Gifted lives.
The third is the Dragon's Fang - a secretive organization with both Gifted and Non-Gifted that sought to take down the Academy and the Resistance but still believe Gifted inherently have a low status.
